Re: [0.18.36] Inserter grabbing wrong stuff on unassigned asm
What about putting the check in the power-on behaviour instead of the pick-up-item behaviour? I.e. when an inserter which was previously without power wakes up, it checks if it is currently trying to pick up an item, and if so whether the item is still a valid target, and if not it cancels the plann...

Re: request: mod that changes accumulator priority
Neither complex nor lacking. Until you try to make it stop flickering. This is a standard solution that is proposed way too often by people with too little experience with the topic. Please stop. It is a standard solution because it works. Yes, it flickers. So what? Though if it really bothers you,...

Re: Rate-limited Pumps Mod?
I'm still convinced that automating this by allowing an infinity pipe to accept a flow rate number as input is more straightforward. I would have already suggested that to the https://mods.factorio.com/mod/EditorExtensions mod author, but unfortunately, h'es only on github, and I neither have, nor ...

Re: Rate-limited Pumps Mod?
Trying to output limit the lubricant production is even less possible : The lowest I can go is 3600/mn (at 99%), and what I want is 1800/mn. You can reduce the throughput further by hooking the pump to cyclic counting circuit and using a circuit condition to only enable to pump on some ticks. In th...

Re: Rate-limited Pumps Mod?
A flow controller would be so much more convenient  Found an easier and better way, it allows configuring the flow rate in steps of 60/s up to 6000/s: Screenshot_2020-09-22_09-07-52.png With a modified infinity pipe which has max capacity of 200 the flow rate can be configured in steps of 120...

Re: request: mod that changes accumulator priority
I've seen a lot of posts requesting this or similar, some people propose circuit network solutions but they are always extremely complex AND lacking; Hook your steam generators to one side of a power switch, and the rest of your base to the other. Build an accumulator attached to the 'rest of base'...

Re: Round Robin Scheduler Troubleshooting
@Lilje: Instead of round-robin, you might consider just having each station be activated when its chests contain enough plastic to fill a train, and deactivated when it falls too low. After all, it isn't really necessary to make sure the stations are access equally ; you just want to make sure you d...

Rate-limited Pumps Mod?
Does anybody know of a mod which allows you to limit the throughput of pumps? E.g. set a pump so it pumps a maximum of 2500 units of fluid per second, rather than the default 6000. I'm experimenting with different tank-farm designs, trying to find designs that are both efficient and have high guaran...

New Inserters
Stilt Inserter (Recipe: Inserter + 4 * Iron Rod): Works like a regular inserter, but you can walk through it like lights and power poles. Angle Inserter: Takes stuff from one direction, outputs it 90 desgrees to the left or right (obviously, you need two versions: clockwise and counterclockwise) Che...

Re: Any production spreadsheet
I second this notion. I'd really like to see some hard numbers on things, like how much water can one pump supply? How much can one boiler heat? How long does one unit of steal take to forge?

Re: How does steam work?
Okay, so if I understand correctly:
- A pump produces up to X l/s of water
- A steam engine uses up water proportional to demand, up to Y l/s at full demand.
- A boiler heats up to Z Β°l/s of water (i.e. it can heat Z l/s by 1 degree, or 1 l/s by Z degrees)

How does steam work?
I can't figure out how the water/steam system works. Apparently, the boilers heat up the water, and the engines use up the heated water? But how do i tell how much 100-degree water is in a pipe? And does this mean that adding more boilers once the water is at 100 doesn't help? I'm trying to figure o...

[v2.7, Windows, 64-bit] Random delays in input
Something keeps going wrong with the way the game registers input. It seems to randomly be delayed by up to half a second, and other times ignored. So, if I tap 'D' to move right, any one of the following could happen: No response Take one step to the right Take one step to the right after a 0.5-2 s...
