This would definitely be a good addition, especially for starters.
It would be nice if there was on option to always show these overlay though. Sometimes you have to debug a NoPath error and then have to follow the expected route via map and check for a misplaced signal.

I really like the idea of "filtering splitters", but please only for the highest tier (otherwise you make the early game to boring.) If you need a way to debuf robots, make them gain less speed per research level or make research more expensive. (Keep it the same for the first few research...

The belt immunity is also a good thing, I try to avoid belts/inserters though as they tend to unload my planes, is there something I can do against that?

IMO there is another inherent problem with bot based factories: Bots always tend to be late especially when the base exceeds a certain size. Could you please release an official version for 0.16?

All you need to do is change the required factorio version.
