Re: Can anyone help me with my railway, please?
The no path likely means there is a single signal the wrong way on that route (trains wont go the wrong way through a signal unless there is also a signal exactly opposite). I normally find such issues by driving the train manually for a bit checking every signal i pass is on the right

Re: Minimum Requirements for Headless server
Yeah, sorry, maybe was not clear. I have a bunch of AWS servers (mostly web hosts), and was interested in specifically how the "CPU Credit Balance" stat on a T2.micro node looks like after a long play session as not had the opportunity to test anything much (and well out of free tier), e.g...

Re: Minimum Requirements for Headless server
Hey,
What does the AWS CPU Credit usage look like after a few hours of play and a decent coop base? Is it stable or would itrun to zero if played a long session?
That was my other concern since the base performance is a lot slower on t2.

Need to look in detail, but a simple min range still allows for friendly fire along the wall/defence line. It would only entirly solve the problem for an artillery outpost such that none of your other defence lines fall between the min and max range.

Re: "no responding" after blackout shutdown my pc.
Strange. You could try deleting C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\factorio. Not sure if steam uninstall deletes, this. As far as I know, those are the only files not shared by either other games, or other user accounts. Devs might know more about any such files/directories that can crash Factorio ...

Other games work?
As well file corruption, which you seem to have mostly checked, hardware damage is an option, possibly the GPU itself. Power outages can sometimes be accompanied by a surge, or sometimes unlucky coincidences and unrelated things happen about the same time.

Re: How long do you stay on the burner phase?
I usaully have around 4 iron, 2 coal, 1 stone, 1 copper. You really dont need much copper or stone at all before mass production. Aldo often there is trees on the ore or otherwise in the way, so tend to burn a couple hundred wood early on before the coal miners produce a good surplus. Once have the ...

Re: No power at night
Because once built solar is unlimited, clean, free energy for the rest of the game. As you build a large factory, steam needs more and more coal or oil, so you have to keep building new resource outposts for it. Plus they create a lot of pollution causeing biters to attack. Solar you just build a ma...

Re: The light should be REAL problem
Visually, you cant really force the players, unless at the extreme of near pitch black where the game just doesn't render out enough contrast to see clearly, which is generally pretty unrealistic in most environments. e.g. star or moon light, distant urban lighting, or as a personal in-doors, just a...

Re: Train Speeds and Power Consumption
Modern freight trains can have over a hundred wagons, and commonly at least dozens. Pretty sure even the biggest mega-factories look tiny compared to that, so is there any point trying to compare to real world rail physics directly? In fact, the train is likely longer than the distance between most ...

Re: Minimum Requirements for Headless server
Yeah, this game really hates latency right now. Hopefully the developers will continue working on it, since up to about 200ms is not so unusual. Most of these services are of course not really intended for this use, although does seem the infrastructure over your way isn't as good, 3000km is a long ...

Re: [Pending] Factorio not working in high resolution
Changing the resolution in fullscreen mode did seem to work for me, even when the game was running. The DPI is entirely separate, and the game got it wrong on start (didn't even try changing while the game was running, or moving it between monitors with different settings). The monitor does not chan...

Re: Minimum Requirements for Headless server
I found my T2 Micro EC2 instances (not used or tried for Factorio) have very limited sustained CPU, but the short term/burst performance is pretty good (ideal for small web servers and the likes, since most sites are not getting 100's of page hits a second to maintain high CPU usage anyway). If you ...

"Solaris" achievement description
Solaris Produce more than 10 MJ energy per hour without the usage of Steam engine. To produce 10MJ of electricity in one hour (60*60, 3600 seconds) would only require just above 2777W of continuous generation for that hour (a watt is a joule per second). That is a pretty small amount of energy even...

Re: [Pending] Factorio not working in high resolution
I think the bug is changing the windows UI scaling for that monitor is not handled by Factorio correctly (see http://puu.sh/pgfct/7978feab37.png from the other thread). I just tried setting my primary 1080p screen to 150% (Windows 10), and starting Factorio fullscreen mode afterwards tried to displa...

Re: Turret comparison
Lasers are easier once you get past that initial research and build a production line though. When building an outpost or expanding it is far easier to set down a line of laser turrets than set up a belt/bots to distribute ammo. And once you have a solar production line and drop down a few hundred p...

Re: Do you mind lag?
Lag in Factorio creates a very bad experience, and Ive found that generally its a lot worse than a lot of other games when playing with the same people, because the developers are currently as I understand using a perfect-sync deterministic model, and that just does not scale. When I play say Minecr...

Re: Train vagons carrying one item button
Where possible if I didn't have another wagon to just direct copy from, I tend to place 1 of the item I want in each wagon slot from inventory, then quickly go over with the middle mouse button to do the reservations. Not ideal but still far better than going through the menu to reserve iron ore or ...

Re: Suggestion for better challenge game
Tower defense games you have a pretty know set of enemies following a known path, etc. I wouldn't want that at all, in fact I would want to be further away from that than we are now. The two problems I have with biters, is firstly every biter attack is basically the same mix, with just a simple glob...
