I've done the same thing, pumps worked well here. If you're impatient and talking about lots of water, you might want to use several.

Also, I had to pump out water from 2 different places along the same pipeline, not sure how that happened, but you might want to keep an eye out.

XML is actually not a very good language. It has its uses, but JSON or Lua-style tables are arguably much more appealing, definitely less space-wastey, less verbose, not to mention they already fit in with the game engine. I'd like to add my support to this one, and perhaps add another idea - mine would be for a general "item flow entity" (an imagined abstract class for anything like an underground belt, a splitter, etc.) and which would just be able to process incoming items and redirect them. Obvious ideas...

You can also just create a symlink (on Windows, the utility is named MKLINK and called with "MKLINK /D name target_path"), with target_path in quotes.. I use this for a lot of games and other programs in order to make them save to dropbox.

That forum mod someone was talking about that detects similar/duplicate titles etc. would probably help a lot. Whoever's in charge of the forum should really take a look at that.

It doesn't make much sense. There's no reason why you wouldn't be able to split lanes, switch lanes etc., ie. from a "common sense" point of view, these are arbitrary limitations in the game that may in fact already be on their way to being removed - we are, after all, in alpha. Complexity...

Personally, I sort of dislike RTS and I absolutely LOATHE tower defense. The current level is tolerable, but I'd rather not have to order anything more around.
If you do choose to implement it, PLEASE make it optional as a parallel to the current gameplay?
