Re: Friday Facts #189 - Specifying the 1.0

Yea, a Steel Pipe version with a longer reach wouldn't be a bad idea. If at all possible, a higher max flow rate on them wouldn't be a bad idea either - just not sure if it is possible since the flow characteristics of a fluid seem defined in the fluid type, not in the transfer medium. Maybe if the...

Re: Friday Facts #188 - Bug, Bug, Desync

gods this looks good has anyone crunched the output to see how many steam turbines can be 'fed' by a single reactor's 4 heat exchangers? And i must say: I am a little disapointed that the heat exchangers look like oldschool shell and tube heat exchangers, not more modern plate stack heat exchangers....

Re: Friday Facts #182 - Optimizations, always more optimizations

good times say, a thought I've been having since it was accounced that 0.15 will introduce 'eternal research' There is currently an achievement for having researched everything. Will that achievement also be changed? Or will it become impossible to get? Will it be discontinued so you can't get it an...

Re: Friday Facts #169 - Combat revisit 2

I have nothing against turret creeping: it is a huge investment of ressources, can easily go wrong, and requires a buttload of micro-managing. This takes attention away from other places and other defences. Also tank shell dmg and firing speed research - cool. Hope that doesn't mean that the startin...

No graphics card needed

I don't know if this was ever intended... but after a lovely Error 43 that will likely see my GTx 670 go into the trash - I have no working graphics card in my rig right now, well, none that my win10 is recognizing. its running on generic drivers. No 3D graphics program will run - be it Warframe, or...

Cooptional Podcast mention

I'm sure this has been mentioned before - but... Factorio was mentioned in the latest Cooptional Podcast with Totalbiscuit, in ep. 112 That's a quarter of a million viewers who just got a heads up about the game - and TB sounded positive about it (namely that 100K copies of the game had been sold pr...

Looks like you solved a lot of your issues yourself

ya - gotta be careful with lasers: They can absolutely tank your power economy - and that can and will screw with your coal mining, which can kill your power production... and then no lasers

Last ditch debug mode?

I'm 5Β½ hours into a very good game Just got blue science production up, about to set up solar power - my lasers are wreaking havoc on my coal power production since it disrupts coal mining... and my last auto-save puts me about 1Β½ minutes away from a massive swarm attack that will crush me utterly. ...

ALso, the Treefarm Mod has medical packs.
I know that eating fish heals me - but fish seem to deplete much too quickly for my taste

And while I'm sure mods introduce healing, but I would very much like to see an official feature with it

Healing and medical gear/buildings?

I'm sure this has been suggested before, but I didn't see anything mentioning it in the Ready for Implementation or Forum-ready sections. Medical stuff. Stuff to make characters heal faster. I have 3 things in mind: A basic medical aid station, a 3 x 3 building made from steel, copper plate, alien a...

Re: Friday Facts #91 - Being the evil guy

How about a machine that sucks polution out of the air? Like, some kind of filter. Sure, you'd need a lot, and it'd probably be really power-intensive... but why not? Maybe it also needs a supply of water, and in turn produces some kind of slag or crap that you can do away with by incinerating it in...

Cargo train wagon freeze

Heyo I keep getting the same crash: I have two seperate rail networks - one with a functioning iron ore delivery setup, the other is meant to be a copper ore delivery setup. However, when I plop down the cargo wagons for the copper train the game just freezes. I'm not sure how to provide documentati...
