New rocket fuel
Since we have the issue with oil changes, assuming they will remain, I've had to redo my rocket fuel lines for rocket production.

Light oil to make the rocket fuel? I don't have any pipes anywhere near my rocket fuel processing sites, this will be a new thing to figure out....horray

Destroying walkways
I feel like when I drop a nuke, the stone or concrete path should be destroyed as well in the wake. I can understand that I can't destroy it with a machine gun or shotgun, but at least with a nuclear bomb it should be destroyed like everything else.

Finished a new uranium setup
Found a huge uranium deposit north west of my main base, so I setup processing to get ready for train use.

I'd really like to see some nuclear product required for one of the sciences. Even just raw U-235 or U-238. Would encourage the user to use all facets of the game.

Re: When mining drills run out of expected resources, they should mark themselves for deletion
Personally, I wouldn't want that behaviour. It will just lead to my personal construction bots running off and getting left behind every time I travel past in a train. (Now if the devs changed bots to not launch if I'm in a train, then automatic marking of drills for removal might be alright). I've...

Re: Rocket Fuel or Nuclear Fuel for trains?
By the time I have Rocket Fuel (launching rockets), I always have far too much U235, so I figure I may as well do nuclear fuel. I prefer the extra acceleration, even if it doesn't last as long. Same with nuclear, I have thousands of U-235 at my kovarex facility, and nuclear power uses very little o...

Sulfuric acid? We have some already, but that would be expensive fuel.

Re: [0.16.51] Heat exchangers not running until 500C
Why? If i have 100C why cant we start boiling water at that point? In a nuclear power plant the heat exchangers are directly in water, they start boiling water as soon as it's hot enough. This seems like an arbitrary decision that's a bit ridiculous.

[0.16.51] Heat exchangers not running until 500C
Water boils at 100 C. The heat exchangers didn't output steam until 500C. Why didn't the heat exchangers start outputting steam until 500C?

Re: Artillery train nest clearing strategy
Agreed. Try as I might I simply can't seem to find any good reasons to use static Artillery turrets over Artillery wagons. I can't even justify delivering ammo using cargo wagons, as the Artillery wagons themselves have higher capacity, The only negative I see to artillery wagons is that they seem ...

Re: Artillery train nest clearing strategy
to defend captured areas: static turrets with activated train station for resupply new nests are usually small groups which can be taken out immediatly; no growth possible benefit: you save on train station names because you don't need dedicated names for every station. ammo demand is relativly low...

Re: Artillery train nest clearing strategy
- To defend an already cleared area: Set a train with one or more artillery wagons on a patrol route, to stop at the artillery positions until "x" seconds of inactivity. It is simply not worth it to use static artillery turrets and deliver ammo to them. Been using a patrol route for month...

Re: Self Assembling Stations and Trains that don't need to be Scheduled.
If you're worried about power isolation be sure to have multiple power routes and batteries in every section. I've started depoying accumulator bases around my map. Each one has 4500 accumulators, surrounded by stone walls with laser turrets for outside protection, and 4 robo ports in the middle to ...

Re: Self Assembling Stations and Trains that don't need to be Scheduled.
The largest issue I had with it was I don't use some of the items you are delivering by default. Like cliff explosives. My map was started on older version, so it's all flat. Never made them, Had to change the combinator to make it stop bringing the train each time. How often do you have to use thos...

Re: Coal Liquefaction to Plastic
Needs one hand-loaded coal and four barrels' worth of heavy oil to kickstart the loop (plus the temporary unbarreller/ug pair, lower left corner looks good for that), then it's golden. Basically how I got it started, 10 heavy oil barrels and 100 logs to get some steam. I've got 2 nearly full coal l...

Re: Power graph when accumulators used for isolation
I'd think nuclear-powered accumulator banks are better than steam banks, no? So what if you need 100K of them. Make Elon proud. No. Steam banks are more compact. More MW/mΒ². But I like nuclear more. it uses more resources which means I have to build more to make it work, which means more factorio.
