Re: Damaged Item Condensation on Pickup

If you look at it as a mechanic what about these levels:

Sane remains sane
Damaged > 50% health become stacked as 25% health
Damaged <50% health is destroyed on pickup

Re: Damaged Item Condensation on Pickup

It would make too easy to repair stuff

What avout a middle ground? Divide in 8 health levels and round item down to the nearesth health level while picking them up

That would reduce stacks a lot while not being cheaty.

about that deterministic simulation, found this about how locking timestep out of renderer and into input loop for predictability http://gafferongames.com/game-physics/fix-your-timestep/ there are bits of codes as well - I get lost at xplanation but I can understand code, there are tons of other res...

Re: Friday Facts #41

Yeah but.. is everyone off the same compiler? Mingw?

Is there one makefile (or scons or whatever) for everyone or one makefile for each environment?

Is the source on git? Merged with merges or pull requests?

Re: Friday Facts #41

I have truckload experience in cross build environments but if you need tips you need to share at least the toolchain you use for every environment, as you aren't crosscompiling but using a different env for every build

Re: Version 0.10.0

Suggestion: remove file API, change with load/store api; probably better for multiplayer as well.

Object load(key)
Store(key, object)

Internally key are mod specialized to prevent conflict.

Data is serialized in saves.

Re: Looking for laptop with reasonable keyboard

I join the lenovo praising crowd. i have a w520 at work and it is brilliant. There are model without the numpad like the w530, but the arrow group is a bit awkward mostly because it has to fit under enter to make use of the full space available The y series have the arrows under enter but at least t...

As far as keyboard goes, I found the one on the Lenovo I work on brilliant.

W530 is even better, and there are also variants with full numpad

Re: Some game features are abstracted a bit too much

Actually tech up fight is another black/white depthless affair Until you have enough exoskeleton you drop tons of distractor and spam base running in circles. Then you get fast enough to congaline aliens and decimate them with impunity and the combat shotgun. In both cases there is zero depth and st...
