Re: Friday Facts #420 - Fusion Reactor
Is there a way to send resources to platforms that are in-between planets? E.g., if a platform runs out of fusion power cells, and becomes in-operable (and ceases all flight) then can that platform be saved? Maybe some mechanism for platform to platform resource transfer, so that you could send out ...

Re: Friday Facts #416 - Fluids 2.0
The only "realism" trade-off is that you don't need additional pumps for "really long" pipes. Well, "really long" pipe is a cornercase which can be processed separately. For example, you could limit the size of the segment, starting from the nearest source of fluid, an...

Re: Friday Facts #414 - Spoils of Agriculture
I am concerned about spoilage times restricting how you design your factory. Someone else said people will copy paste an optimized blueprint that minimizes time and I agree with that sentiment. I don't understand this sentiment! Spoilage is designed to restrict factory design on Gleba, and to incen...

Re: Friday Facts #414 - Spoils of Agriculture
I don't understand some of the negative takes. To me, these takes come across as highly pessimistic... un-grounded, and unhelpful. I don't like the new mechanic because all the products, including science packs themself, spoil and inherit spoilage, and that affecting final science level. 1. They lit...

Tiny feedback: the icon for the planet in the friday facts is missing the science pack, unlike the friday facts on the Vulcanus and Fulgora mechanics. https://cdn.factorio.com/assets/img/blog/fff-414-organic-impermanence-thumbnail.png , https://cdn.factorio.com/assets/img/blog/fff-399-thumbnail.png ...

Re: Friday Facts #414 - Spoils of Agriculture
Spoilage without refrigeration? Curious. Haven't the devs heard of salt, or one of the countless chemical preservatives/anti oxidants/inert gases/raw radiation that serve to stifle bacteria and organic decay? That would mean spoilage is just a problem with a straight forward solution, having item t...

Re: Friday Facts #414 - Spoils of Agriculture
Mechanics Feedback: 1. I love the spoilage mechanic. It feels unique, and will likely lead to interesting logistical challenges! V.cool! 2. I really like the harvest and replant dynamic 3. However, with the whole tree being harvested, only obtaining the fruit feels quite strange... why not add some ...

Re: Friday Facts #413 - Gleba
Nice planet! I can see why the art is still in progress: not making something generic takes a lot more work, and multi-colored fungal/undersea theme is definitely more ambitious, impressive, and distinct than a green jungle! I'd far rather have the right Factorio than a rushed Factorio! No worries i...

Re: Friday Facts #409 - Diminishing beacons
Only tangentially related: are the any plans to have modules interact with weapons? Given that now weapons on space-platforms are almost a kind of core resource building (in that one needs the weapons to break the asteroids and that the number of asteroids the platform can safely encounter is limite...

Re: Friday Facts #409 - Diminishing beacons
That's pretty cool! I like how impactful a single beacon can feel. I imagine it will feel especially great when one only has a few legendary modules (especially as legendary modules are so expensive!) It's interesting. Am I right that with mixed quality modules adding a beacon could actually decreas...

Re: Friday Facts #407 - Automating a soundtrack
It could all be great. And overall, I'm super excited for so many changes. With that said, I'm not really convinced procedurally generated music makes sense... it seems maybe more like a passion project than something that adds to the overall experience of the game. Immediate Reaction: I would have ...

Re: Friday Facts #406 - Space Age Music
I really like the full orchestra! It is dramatic but in a good way. - The Space music is amazing. I really like it. - Big fan of the Vulcanus music. Dramatic, but I think that kind of classic-esk music can be dramatic while not being distracting. - The Fulgora theme is cool, but the current tracks a...

Re: Friday Facts #406 - Space Age Music
Sure, the asteroids will likely spawn in a linearly-increasing amount depending on your total speed. I assume... Double speed = double asteroids. If it would scale non-linearly it would be weird and create another "optimum" travel speed to be in, ontop of the optimum platform shape itself...

Re: Friday Facts #406 - Space Age Music
If you make the platform narrow and long you only trade the "attack surface" against the "time "factor"; Because if you make it narrow you cannot fit as many thrusters there, so the platform will be much slower; and then the chance of something slipping through like that hu...

Re: Friday Facts #406 - Space Age Music
This is so cool! I didn't expect to be so excited by this or the other sound FFs, but great sounds really add a lot! I also really like the improved space platform visuals: the clouds of dust moving, and the strong contrast between how much the dust moves, and how much the stars move. I think the st...

Re: Friday Facts #405 - Whole belt reader, New logistics GUI
It would be cool if logistic requests for the player or spidertrons could be conditional on being inside logistic networks with certain names. With this feature the player could stock up on ammo automatically only if they are at the main base/ammo factory, without ever worrying about depleting ammo ...

Re: Friday Facts #404 - Frustration not found
I also think that RTS tool is a bizarre name (regardless of how many units the tool can instruct, tanks, etc...). One is not using the tool to play (or otherwise 'tool' upon) a Real Time Strategy game (RTS) so how is it an RTS tool? The tool is used to implement a Strategy, in Real Time. So it's a ...

Re: Friday Facts #405 - Whole belt reader, New logistics GUI
1. The belt reader seems a great feature, enabling easy access to more varied builds. 2. I also love the new queued rocket feature. Having continuous rocket launch feels like an achievement! 3. Pipe filters seem interesting. 4. The logistic network UI seems useful. One thing I value is having featur...

Re: Friday Facts #381 - Space Platforms
Modding is great. Slight push back though: high grade belt undergrounds make routing belt items pretty easy, i.m.o., and more broadly I'm excited to have to just use belts and think about limited space. Other points: - You can always copy someone else's blue prints / use a guide for the space statio...
