Forum uses different database than factorio.com and the mod portal.
If you bought the game on Steam, you can create an account by clicking on the "Sign in through Steam" button on the login page on factorio.com.

You can't change your name yourself, you would need to have asked Klonan to change it for you.

If the signal is closed by circuit condition in the first frame of the second picture, it's intended behaviour.
