Re: Friday Facts #320 - Color correction
I've been pondering whether or not to write this post, but I decided to do so since after implementation it might be difficult to change. I am not a fan of the new brightness/saturation. It feels far too bright, too saturated. When I play Factorio, I am looking for a game that I can rest my eyes on....

Re: Licensing and mod portal
I hope you agree that a wake up call without legal consequences like Deadlock gave to Katherine is better than bringing down the DMCA hammer in full force. I don't understand this. My interaction with Deadlock was primarily through an email. I asked, he refused, and that was it. The notification of...

Re: Licensing and mod portal
Not meant as attack on you Katherine, I just don't understand why streamers have a problem doing what developers have to do. To avoid legal consequences as self employed developer I have to read licenses on every software, module or even snippet I use in my code and only use it when the license is ...

Re: Licensing and mod portal
Someone mentioned "what about asking nicely?" The way this whole story began was that I saw the FFF of course; mod looked interesting. After hearing from someone in my community that his license prohibited streaming, that's the first thing I did -- I sent Deadlock and email, offering to li...

Re: Licensing and mod portal
Bilka, I am glad you will modify your words in future because I was shocked at how you treated my friend and member of the Factorio community. When you have a pink name, respond on the official forums, and have the phrase "Factorio Staff" under your name, you ARE a Wube-representative and ...

Re: Friday Facts #265 - Nomenclature & Steam networking
One terminology item we thought about as we were playing our multiplayer game today was circuits, and the confusion that could arise. We have the research for Circuit Network, which allows us to make circuits from combinator to combinator (with red & green wire), but we also have intermediate pr...

Re: Friday Facts #255 - Construction tools
Nice new additions! Does the Upgrade Planner functionality mark tiles for upgrade within a network? For example, if you want to upgrade your entire main bus, and you run out of belts on your character: will it also draw from storage within the logistics network? (And ask bots in the roboports to com...

Re: Friday Facts #252 - Sound design & Map editor
Yay! I've seen so many people asking about making the Map Editor more functional -- so glad you are updating it! XD
Love the new sound & graphical additions too -- I look forward to even more immersion within the game!

Re: Friday Facts #246 - The GUI update (Part 3)
WOW! The new GUI looks AMAZING! I really like the style chosen, as well as the button flow -- it makes a lot more sense, and is very intuitive. (Someone mentioned they didn't like the long buttons, but I think they look fantastic!) The style/colors/texture really fits with the nature of the game. (A...

Re: Friday Facts #240 - Factorio-data & Fast pipe replace
Someone just commented to me that they would like to see splitters and undergrounds replace belts, but not the other way around. I would definitely be happy with such a solution!

Re: Friday Facts #240 - Factorio-data & Fast pipe replace
I'm not a fan of the belt fast replace, as soooo many times it messes up my build, and requires even more work to get it fixed. (Not a time=saver). I HOPE very much that there will be a toggle-off option, as none of the mods that I've seen on the portal do exactly what I would like. Upgrade Builder ...

Re: Friday Facts #221 - 0.16 is out
I've been seriously saddened by the changes to belt compression. Before, we had three ways to compress a belt: splitters, undergrounds, and side-loading. Now we have only one: splitters. I feel like this is limiting our options very severely: stifling creativity and hugely restricting the number of ...

Re: Friday Facts #208 - Tips and tricks improvement
+1 to all the suggestions for making the Tips easier to find -- a searchable list or index would be great. Maybe an icon on the upper left to access it. (And point out this icon to new players). It should be something players can access without having to think about where to find it. I get a LOT of ...

Re: Friday Facts #206 - Workflow optimisation
In addition to what Fishling mentioned, I am wary of belts replacing splitters because of quickly dragging lines over already placed splitters to extend the line, as well as create the 4-4 balancers, etc. It would be extremely annoying if your carefully-placed splitters were turned into belts by a s...

Re: Friday Facts #191 - Gui improvements
I LOVE all the new changes! There are sooo many annoyances fixed with the proposed changes -- YES! I do have one question: will this affect research in any way? Could you give players 2-4 toolbar rows right from the beginning? Since it no longer increases inventory, it would make sense if we were al...

[0.15.5] Global Blueprints Don't Always Transfer/Duplicates
I created some Nuclear blueprints in my save that I set for building. I was in the (right-side Global) folder, and took the blueprints and dropped them directly in as I created them. (Normally this would propagate them through my account). This was a world that was previously modded, but I have been...
