Re: A short report on 10 hours into 0.12.10 MP
Factorio is the game I wish I had when I was actively going to LAN parties (and boy, have I seen a lot of them). That would have easily made one of the best weekends ever!

Re: Thank you (Make the dev-team happy today!)
I just saw that you cracked the 100.000 - Congratulations, Wube! I also wanted to wish you all the best for the upcoming Steam release. I am very curious how that will turn out (in a good sense - I am sure that those 100k are just the beginning when this awesome game hits Steam). So, cheers to you g...

Re: Have Some Questions Before I Buy.
Mods add a lot to the game if you played through vanilla Factorio one or two times. I would recommend Resource Spawn Overhaul (as always :P ) for the need to build some trains. With it, the game generates a lot less resources in vicinity of your starting area, so you need to build trains to get reso...

Re: Friday Facts #102 - Getting close
The power switch looks great, and I like the functionality - a red/green lamp and a visible connection/disconnection of the power line should be easy to check while passing by. I personally don't mind it being 2x2 - the modding community will come up with smaller versions anyway, if needed ;) To you...

Re: Friday Facts #97 - Greenlight preparations
The trailer brought me here, too, so I'm all for a Director's Cut :D To take a few more months and hit Steam with the proper endgame that comes with 0.13 (platform building) is not a bad thing I think. Maybe you should aim for a Steam release at the end of November at the latest, so it doesn't colli...

Re: Friday Facts #91 - Being the evil guy
Well, if something doesn't make it into 0.12, I see no problem at all. It's not off the table, it's just postponed, isn't it? As long as you guys don't lose some of those mentioned good ideas to strict timetables! That would be the real evil  Some of the more interesting stuff doesn't make it ...

Triple As, get a piece from this dev-team!! Triple A devs better leave their grubby hands away from my beloved Wube! These days, Triple A isn't known for its innovative, high quality gameplay. Most games are planned to be financial successes only; best way to do that is by relying on ideas t...

Green Circuits and Iron Gear Wheels. I always carry one or two stacks with me; it's needed for most things, and it costs a lot of time to make in hand.

Re: Performance statistics question
Actually I'm currently working on the update time optimisations, I did 2 big changes and now the update time is 28% down compared to the 0.11 for my test factories. I'm planning to do more stuff, and big factories are great for the testing. Is it better for your needs if they are built in vanilla f...

Re: When Do You Upgrade Belts?
Furnaces for example: When a full belt goes in, but the ore doesn't even reach every furnace (because it's spent before), then you need a faster belt. If the belt isn't even completely full, a faster belt wouldn't accomplish much - you need more input in the first place (e.g. more miners that put or...

Re: Need Help With My Game
Some random thoughts to the ongoing discussion. I hope some of that helps you going on :) If you got that green circuit production working, try to automate research. That's a good way to start! For that, you need: - A furnace line with, say, 6-10 iron furnaces and maybe 4-6 copper furnaces. It's not...

Re: Oil train stations
Although I am sure that it is not the desired solution, I want to mention the RailTanker mod anyway :) I never came around to build a setup for pumping oil into barrels, mainly because I didn't like that you can't create barrels with other fluids than oil in it. So the rail tanker which can load eve...

Re: Resource "outposts" or "ALL YOUR LAND R BELONG TO US"?
[...] Also, I find it useful to directly smelt on-site. Ore stacks to 50, but iron stacks to 100. There's ease in 'mainframe' smelting, but there's something to be said for spreading out the workloads and making the logistic space more efficient (especially if you have electric smelters and good Ef...

Re: Filtering a slot in an inventory?
I'd love to be able to set filters for chests. A relatively common scenario I have is that I have two different assemblers feeding different items into a single chest (e.g splitters and underground belts). I never want more than one stack of each. Currently I just limit the automation-usage of the ...
