Re: Bus or not to Bus

Something to keep in mind with a bob's bus: you never need more than one lane per item. I've pushed one rocket/minute off a single lane. I've not penetrated too far into Angel's but I think that'll be the same outside of petrochem stuff because of the loops.

Re: Friday facts #151 - The plans for 0.14

Don't know if anyone mentioned it already, but if we are indeed going nuclear, i would like large stationary RTG's, which would be pretty simple, a entity like any other that generates a X amount of power for Y time, considerably less efficient than a full reactor and if possible with power output ...

Re: Friday facts #151 - The plans for 0.14

Isn't deuterium used as coolant, moderator and heat transfer medium in some high pressure reactors? Terminology, 'Heavy Water' is D 2 O, and used for that, 'Deuterium' refers to D 2 , and isn't. (compare from 'Water', H 2 0, and 'Hydrogen', H 2 ). D 2 would work in principle, but hydrogen cooled re...

Re: Friday facts #151 - The plans for 0.14

So here´s how it would work in practise: - Deuterium is generated by processing water in a filtration building (resulting Deuterium is a fluid and requires alot of water to process) - Nuclear fuel is generated in an air filtration units (resulting fuel is solid and are made by radioactive particals...

Response to various: I don't think Thorium would be as fun for gameplay purposes. In the real world one of the things that makes Thorium amazing is that you can refine it from nonfissile to fissile inside the reactor itself, there's no expensive enrichment process that produces dangerous chemical wa...

Re: Friday facts #151 - The plans for 0.14

On the subject of response time, note that while commercial reactors are used as baseline generators, this is not an inherent property of nuclear power, but is done to economize on plant components by minimizing thermal cycling. It can be done if necessary and planned for but there are good reasons...

Uranium Power - Change of how the maximum power of a turbine is calculated. Perhaps a turbine could instead be specified to be capable of handling specific fluids. Vanilla steam engines would only handle boiling water, while there would be higher-tier turbines that can utilize the full energy of st...

Re: Friday facts #151 - The plans for 0.14

A response to pretty much everyone everyone nuclear is not particularly complex or unique outside of the fuel processing and handling compared to anything else in the game . yes nuclear power plants require constant monitoring, so do coal gas and solar plants (if only because you need to know exactl...

Re: [0.12.x][v0.12.4] Bob's Config mod

How do i get the game to actually recognize the changes (to module configs specifically), I assume there's some command to run like when changing recipes?

Edit: oh wait, the mod isn't loading for some unknown reason.

Editedit: didn't unzip the archive right works fine.

Is there a way to get robots to replace/upgrade buildings?

I'd like to get my construction robots to automatically replace a pattern with higher tiers of buildings (the same way you can just put the building in place and it replaces it). Is there any way to do this, mods or otherwise?

Re: [0.12.x][v0.12.11] Bob's Warfare mod

I don't recall any game where I could say that oil is abundant. And usually you need this ammo to get to said oil so it's not that viable to make it from oil only. I do play with RSO. Oil can be pretty abundant without RSO now, but I don't think Bob's is playable without because the base game has m...

Re: [0.12.x][v0.12.11] Bob's Warfare mod

A unit of oil is vastly more expensive than a unit of iron or copper. There's also the sheer cost of machinery, I'm up to 14 tier 2 chemical furnaces and 16 assemblers for nothing except the cordite. For a single assembler worth of ammo. When I used this new ammo I had similar impression as you - t...

If I have this right, it takes 6 light oil and 6.7 heavy oil to make a single ammo magazine? Please tell me I've got something horribly wrong.

Re: [0.13.x] Bob's Revamp Mod.

Thought, instead of straight up reducing steel from 5 to 2 iron plates leave the default recipe in, and add a chemical furnace recipe for charcoal or coke necessary to get the 2 iron to 1 steel recipe. It's so easy to produce Bob's carbon why not use this? Good point. Bob's advanced science pack an...

Did the bug where it stopped letting you change between drones ever get fixed? I can't find the changelog but see updates in the mod portal.

Bob? do u know another ways to get plastics? We need it to: 1) Electronics (to a greater extent) 1.1) Module cases 1.2) Transistors 1.3) Boards 1.4) Processors 2) Batteries 3) Laser ammo cases As we can see we need a LOT of plastics nad we need a LOT of petrolium gas and we must remember to farm co...

Re: Support - Uranium Power

It is consistently spawning Uranite and Flourinite in the starting zone though. Seems like a bug if only because I've only very rarely seen it at home base before. (On the other hand maybe it was always that way without RSO? Trying the new default gen). Won't exactly stop any nuclear plans though. :...
