Re: Thank you for the Switch Version ❤️

Many thanks to Twinsen and the team for the Switch version of Factorio, bought it first thing this morning and had a sneaky quick go at lunch. It feels really good to use, will take a bit of getting used to but it felt intuitive to use so far. Having used the Steam Controller on and off to play I'm...

Re: Non-blocking saves?

Thanks all; and yeah, Windows, would kill. Devs please PM me your targets' names, last known locations, and photos. To make it work on windows would require that the windows operating system support process level forking and copy-on-write. So you'll need to contact Microsoft about that one. Y...

Where is boiler -> steam mapping defined?

Is there a .lua file somewhere that defines the fact that boilers and heat exchangers produce steam? It didn't seem to be in recipes.lua, which I guess makes sense, since it's not really a recipe. I'm specifically looking for the file because I'm processing the files with an external tool (as oppose...

Re: Blueprint positioning unnecessarily in 2-tile increments

I think the Shift-key is already overused… what I want is some kind of circle menu, which I can use to change the paste parameters while placing the bp. I'd like that too, or anything really. The reason "shift" seems intuitive (to me anyways) is because when you use it while placing ghost...

Re: Evolution of life on Nauvis

Yup it's up to us for a back story. I don't think there "needs" to be a back story. Frankly, I'm liking it without one. Allows me to play however I want and, if I feel the need, come up with my own lame story for my current playthrough, that could be completely different for the next time...

Re: Evolution of life on Nauvis

I think Stringweasel is referencing a mod, because I remember one that is exactly that. That said, honestly, I'm not sure the devs really put a large amount of time and thought into it seems lore is not that deep and heavy in this game, so I'm not sure you're really going to come up with a satisfac...

Non-blocking saves?

I see an incidental reference in the 1.1.70 release notes to "non-blocking saves" (some bug was fixed related to it) with wording along the lines of "when non-blocking saves are used". I didn't know this was a thing, and the wording implies that it's some sort of option. However,...

Re: Evolution of life on Nauvis

... Then an android ... filled with rich plant life ... I imagine that the android's only exposure to plant life was Christmas + the wikipedia page on deciduous forests, and that it patted itself on the back when it added "rich plant life" by mixing it up a bit and adding a pine tree. Als...

Re: [1.1.70] Ammo disappears when transferring from spider to player

Thanks for the report however when I test exactly as you describe it works exactly as I would expect: the extra ammo goes into the player inventory. Do you have trash requests setup to remove extra ammo from your player? I'm sorry. After reading your comment and trying to get more info, it turns ou...

Evolution of life on Nauvis

Nauvis is a life-containing planet whose evolutionary path has somehow lead to the only successful species being: A collection of hideous giant bugs, with developed defensive mechanisms despite having no natural predators. A scattered selection of northern hemisphere deciduous trees + one pine tree ...

Re: [1.1.70] Inserters pick up items that destination does not accept

Thanks for the report however we have no intention of changing this. It would add too much overhead to every inserter for the 99.99%+ use-case of they aren't dealing with damaged items. 👍 All right. I'll just think of it as one of the maintenance downsides of starting SpaceX from scratch on an alie...

Re: Show radar coverage when using a blueprint

Why ? Basically, QOL, because right now you can obtain the same exact result placing the radar first (coverage displayed) and then placing blueprint. Noting that this is highly difficult if the paste / bp contains multiple radars. [Koub] Merged into older thread with same suggestion. Thanks, Koub.

Re: [1.1.70] Inserters pick up items that destination does not accept

https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3638 Describe the problem as best as you can - What did you do? Since assemblers do not accept damaged items, as with other unaccepted items, inserters should not pick them up. Implication is that I used an inserter, an assembler, and a damaged it...

[1.1.70] Ammo disappears when transferring from spider to player

Steps to reproduce: 1. Equip the player with one weapon that accepts any type of ammo (presumably, although so far only observed with rockets and green bullets) 2. Place more than one stack of that ammo in the spider's trunk 3. Open the spider's trunk and ctrl-click the ammo to take it Expected: Amm...

[1.1.70] Inserters pick up items that destination does not accept

Assemblers do not accept damaged items as ingredients. Inserters will still pick damaged items out of chests and attempt to insert them into the assembler. Since the assembler does not accept this item, the inserter will get stuck holding it over the assembler. Since assemblers do not accept damaged...
