The comparison to Dune's worm is inevitable, even without the "worms traveling across the sand" theme.
As for clearing out demolishers, hmm. Before deciding on a preferred combat method, I need to know more about the various resistances and other relative combat info.
In an ideal world, I would ...

The information is out there for all to piece together.
No, I will not share the idea before testing it.

Re: Friday Facts #427 - Combat Balancing & Space Age LAN
Spidertron, in vanilla 1.1.x Factorio, only can use rocket ammunition and personal laser defense modules to deal damage. Why is that funny?
Do you know something that we don't? About Oct 21, 2024?
Yeah from being at the event, and having played the space age i guess there's stuff i must know ...

Re: Friday Facts #428 - Reactor & Logistics circuit control
I am telling you. It can not be done because it is not yet Oct 21st, 2024, and it relies on a new feature that is unreleased before then.
I am not ignoring the other solutions because they have drawbacks or issues that make it impossible to use them.
I thought you were ignoring working ...

Re: Friday Facts #428 - Reactor & Logistics circuit control
I said it before, and someone didn't listen.
I have already tried and haven't found a solution (even with trains and splitters/belts), but a new feature is coming, either with patch 2.0 or Space Age DLC. I might be able to do something.
I was under the impression that you said it was ...

Re: Friday Facts #427 - Combat Balancing & Space Age LAN
It is not a matter of subjective.
Micro-management usually involves the player giving multiple orders rapidly within a minute or less.
Macro-management is taking a blueprint/deconstruction-planner and stamping it each once in a while and letting your train network and logistic bots take care ...

Re: Friday Facts #427 - Combat Balancing & Space Age LAN
I am talking about 'new' weapons in vanilla Factorio, and Tesla Gun doesn't count.
 I wish there was a color like blue except not blue because blue doesn't count.
What the heck does the color blue, actually any color for that matter, have to do with being able to equip Spidertron ...

Those examples do not fulfill what I wanted to do precisely and often are overcomplicated unnecessarily.

Hand-held weapons in a vehicle? Can you put a hand-held flamethrower on a Spidertron?

Re: Friday Facts #428 - Reactor & Logistics circuit control
I tried to build a circuit with three conditions without electricity (see attached screenshot). It is not possible.
Using splitter as a logic gate... To count up to a number and then pass a boolean to the next component is not possible, not in the way I had envisioned it.
Train... Now ...

Re: Friday Facts #427 - Combat Balancing & Space Age LAN
That doesn't make my own preferred gameplay any less valid than other game play styles.
No it's just when you said you know people who can't click fast and use PLD for combat as if it was a valid complaint , that was ridiculous.
The nerf is a good thing, it will allow you to stop using the ...

Why say something?
You quoted me saying you didn't manage to do something, i didn't know what to say, but i wanted to answer because you quoted me.
I think you should try with splitter logic, you can make logic gate with them, it's also possible with trains, those do not require electricity ...

Re: Friday Facts #427 - Combat Balancing & Space Age LAN
It seemed to me that you said people with difficulty to click fast would use PLD that seem completly backward, as the PLD is close range mid combat and require some dodging
Instead they should use artillery, this is more passive playstyle.

Yeah that is a big failure of communication ...

Re: Friday Facts #427 - Combat Balancing & Space Age LAN
Regarding artillery specifically for expanding your territory , I'd argue it's not automatic enough . It requires manually building and moving artillery outposts, clicking with the remote (or, if you don't do that - even more outpost building). It's more "lazy" in the sense that you don't need to ...

Apparently, what I said went unnoticed.
It's because it's already possible in game so i didn't care all that much
Curious.

Why say something?
The last time I tried doing so, not that long ...

Re: Friday Facts #428 - Reactor & Logistics circuit control
Then, I would like to try to figure out if I can do it in a way that doesn't 'rely' on electric energy. That will be an exciting engineering challenge!
This is already possible in game, and nothing that would change it was announced ;)
Apparently, what I said went unnoticed.

Re: Friday Facts #427 - Combat Balancing & Space Age LA
Auto-targeting artillery has a range limit on how far it will engage. The artillery remote control exceeds the auto-targeting range. Even then, as a whole, the artillery weapon system does not reward participation in combat through the use of the remote control.
Exactly why it's the more ...

Re: Friday Facts #427 - Combat Balancing & Space Age LA
players can derive some enjoyment in pulling off a 'skill-shot without using an aimbot/bot' to use an FPS phrase/term.
Yes, they can . But Factorio is an automation game, and this sort of action game skill should not be required of players. At standard settings, if you invest sensibly in ...

Re: Friday Facts #427 - Combat Balancing & Space Age LA
Hard disagree.
I think your arguments make no sense, i just say artillery is more passive than PLD, you say the same.
Also you don't need to use the remote for artillery, its auto-targeting is enough.
Auto-targeting artillery has a range limit on how far it will engage. The artillery ...
