Re: [v2.3.1] Lunar's Factorio Mod Manager
hey there, today I downloaded and used v2.3.1 for windows. I noticed, that it is unable to read the mods list from existing savegames. It just reads some very messed up data. An observation is, that this happens with all savegames made with factorio v0.18.x ( the oldest I have seen this with is from...

Re: Choose What's Included in "Alt" vs. Always On
+1 Oh that is a very smart suggestion. I would turn on everything in ALT-mode, including modules in beacons and fluid type overlay. And maybe still have some infos in the other mode. For most of the time, I am interested in the condensed information on the factory, not so much in nice graphics. Also...

Re: Server not appearing in the global list
Yep, was doing that. Putting in my factorio account info instead of just the key fixed it... I had the key generated but it didnt seem to use it. I put in my factorio.com account info and now it's in the list :) Thanks for the tip... While yo are revisiting ths topic and for everyone else who reads...

Re: [0.18.31] Searching production for Uranium shows things unrelated to Uranium
Levenshtein itself is only suitable for a fuzzy string comparison, not for a fuzzy substring search. ... Can you elaborate on this? A levenshtein distance can be calculated for any 2 strings. In what ways does a string comparison differ from a substring search in the context of levenshtein? I am in...

Hey! Cool! And thanks for your feedback. Makes this thread a resource of knowledge. You could mark this topic as solved, by putting [SOLVED] in the thread title (by editing the title of your first post), like here ( viewtopic.php?f=25&t=86060 ).

Re: enable stations of same name in sequence
OK and damn. Only after I wrote my previous post, I read the other thread of yours ( https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=85687 ) and got the xontext. What I recommend now is the 2nd suggestion I made in my previous post. That ensures that no train travelling between the mines and th...

Re: enable stations of same name in sequence
You asked about a logic to sequentially enable stations. So my posting is off-topic. From your map screenshot of the facility I deduct that it is a reloading complex or transfer site. Trains bring ores from mines there and other trains pick up ores there to bring them to the 60 spm complexes. Am I c...

Re: [0.18.31] Searching production for Uranium shows things unrelated to Uranium
Makes me think that the search algo may be a regex with ".*" for the allowed characters inbetween. Then maybe ".{0,x}" could ease the problem. But this does not address the problem of character displacement in the search string like in "uanruim". A proper fuzzy search a...

Re: Blueprint library restoration?
Hm, I know there have been issues with the file blueprint-storage.dat in the past, when downgrading and upgrading again. Though haveing a backup usually solves all the problems. I had a look in the factorio user directory and found some places that could affect the bp-storage. In the file blueprint-...

[Solved][0.18.32] Are bonuses addable via a script or any hack?
Can bonuses, such as those received with certain techs (eg inserter stack size), be added by script? And I don't mean to edit the bonuses given by a certain tech. I mean just adding or removing eg x% mining productivity if that script is run.
Any pointers? Or ideas for hacks?
Thanks!

Re: [Nauvis Day] Gas-Powered Boiler not working
Ok, I did not know that mod, so I could not make sense of the text in the square brackets. First the "Modding help" subforum is not the right place to ask your question. Here modders communicate if they have questions on how to mod. The correct place to ask your question is one of these: 1...

Re: missing mods or missing pieces
I believe you, that help would be great. But unless you give a more structured and detailed description of your problem and ask precise questions, you most likely will not get any. You can provide: factorio version before and now, installed mods (including versions) before and now, savegame, logfile...

Re: [Nauvis Day] Gas-Powered Boiler not working
No, because unless a player, who had exactly the same problem and by chance stumbles accross this topic, exists and is willing to help, no one will be able to help. First and foremost no one knows what these gas powered boilers are. What mod is it, you are using there? Did you discuss this issue wit...

Re: Replace blueprint contents preserving icon+name
I absolutely agree. I wished for a feature like this a lot of times. "Oh, forgot a detail before I made the final blueprint of this facility. Damn, now I have to write the descriptive name and set the icons again." Because of this, for longer, descriptive texts, I resided to write them in ...

Hehe, this thread could also be read as a very smart job application. ;-) Clustering sounds intriguing. Though I don't know anything about anything. But it sounds like a game with independent outposts or a city block style game could profit massively by clustering. Maybe even the prevalent base layo...

And here is an opnion of mine: The QI "furnace" and the QI recipes together should be fast enough to do the QI at the throughput of one belt. That way the player can use loaders to funnel the items through a QI unit. At least that is what I would feel comfortable at the moment I write this...
