Re: Game will not launch at all. Any advise would be appreciated
You can see if it's a hardware or a Windows problem by booting into Linux Mint from a USB stick and seeing if it works there.

Re: Space Exploration / Space Age connection?
So, from what I understand,...
WUBE always wanted to do SA, but didn't have time, and wanted to get 1.0 out. After they release 1.0, Earendel singlehandedly wrote his/her own enormous SE mod, equal in complexity (or moreso, if you consider the secret ending) to what WUBE was working on as SA ...

Nothing is ever "upgraded" the game. Items get removed, and new items can get put in their place. So what you are describing as "upgrading" is actually removing and then replacing.

Re: Will Factorio run on Switch 2
Out of curiosity, do you want to run it on the Switch just to see if it can be done? If you want to play it seriously, how in the heck could you see anything on that tiny screen? I specifically play Factorio on the biggest monitor I can fit on my desk.

Re: Game crashes on startup on old laptop.
You might have better luck running Linux, since it tends to run much better than Windows on most hardware.
The easiest way to try it is: .

Re: going for the lazy bastard achievement in June 2025
It's not a difficult achievement technically. For me, the difficult part is just remembering not to do it accidentally, as I've handcrafted many, many things over hundreds of hours of early game play over the years. For me, once I get to bots, I'm a lot less likely to forget and accidentally craft ...

Sounds like a problem with one of your mods. You should probably remove them.

Re: Basic Space Logistics Help
I do let the science delivering platforms sit at Nauvis until they're empty. just so that the supply of science stays full-ish on Nauvis.
I don't let platforms wait in orbit until something becomes empty. The planets request a rather high amount that works as a buffer down on the planet. So ...

Re: Basic Space Logistics Help
I built my logistics like this:
For every planet, there is one dedicated platform always flying from that planet to Nauvis and back, bringing the science pack from that planet and optionally stuff that's meant to be used on Nauvis. On its way back from Nauvis, it brings stuff manufactured on ...

Re: Second play through, first K2 and vaguely frustratedā¦
I'm sorry that I missed K2 in the title, as well! I apologize! K2 is indeed, a heck of a challenge.
But the wood thing in K2 is solved by putting up greenhouses, which produce wood, so you don't have to run around farming it by hand.

Re: Basic Space Logistics Help
This isn't what you asked, but I'm going to throw this out... Since all platform engine fuel is harvested from asteroids, is there any reason not to just bounce the platforms back and forth from Vulcanus to Nauvis constantly, regardless of anything is needed at all? Is there any particular benefit ...

You didn't say you were playing K2. That's a whole different thing. I tried it and didn't enjoy it. I wish you all the best with that, though!

Re: Second play through and vaguely frustratedā¦
First you need to mine copper, move it to an assembler to get wire made, then move that to another assembler. At the same time you need to be producing the other needed materials, then move that. You get the picture. So you end up with dozens of mines and conveyer belts simply to create ...

Re: Starting a new game of Space Age - Mod Recommendation
The idea of removing spoilage from Gleba, *especially* before even trying it, seems very strange to me. It's like paying Pac-Man without the ghosts, or Space Invaders without the invaders. To each their own, of course, but I don't see the point of playing a game with the challenges removed. If ...

Re: Landing Pad to Space Platform logistics
You're correct. That's not something you can do. You cannot communicate between planets. The simplest thing to do is just to have platforms constantly bounce between the planets, carrying whatever might be needed. I have some platforms that go between two planets. I have some that go around all of ...
