Fair enough, bad ordering in the internal code then, or insufficient documentation (regarding when a surface is actually "created").

I think that once the optimization is in place the command won't be needed since the undo queue won't cripple the system.

Not a bug per se. Either use more containers and inserters with only one item type each, or don't use a stack size greater than 1.

Yes, you can reserve arbitrary inventory slots, same as every other container with reservable slots.

Not a glitch per se; one is for the location of the cars on the rails according to the station placement, the other is for the car that will be involved itself.

It isn't known whether or not an inserter will have an item to pick up until it actually reaches and grabs the item. Sure, it may be possible to do the math to figure it out beforehand, but how will that affect UPS/FPS?

Belt immunity equipment is always active, and it seems that power sources are not active when logged out.

Bots always reserve their carry count regardless of how many of an item are in the network. If e.g. the carry count is 4 and there is 1 item in the network then there will be a net result of -3 until the bot actually discovers that only 1 item is available by picking it up.

Did you remember to uncheck "Enable"? A blueprint to replicate this would help.
