Re: So I have written myself a license

Seems reasonable to me. I didn't even know you can just make your own license. Yeah, anyone can do it. The thing is - legalities can be tricky and complicated, so having a lawyer go over it (preferably one who specializes in digital copyright law) can help make sure there are no loop-holes or unexp...

Re: Map downloading causes internet to drop / desync issues

Factorio doesn't like low upload speeds - I don't know if it's sending too much acknowledgement packets or just being too quick to send data which throws it into a positive feedback loop (with negative implications). It appears this is either a low-priority issue or simply very hard to reproduce, be...

Can you verify that the graphics settings are indeed the same for both versions? In particular the graphics quality?

Re: spoils the eyesight.

I have this problem lately as well, 60/60, but i stutter randomly when i walk, very noticeable http://imgur.com/a/KA7mr no mods, and it feels like lag spikes, but happens even when base is idle, and with stable latency. "level" pops up during the stutter, perhaps just coincidence though? ...

Re: [0.15.18] High CPU usage when paused.

If you are playing under Linux I suggest starting factorio from a terminal and pressing ctrl-z to really pause the game and then "fg" to unpause it. This will work, but is more of a "patch", and it may have undesired side-effects (Factorio has issues in Windows when locking / sw...

Re: Image Optimization (I cut 59% of graphics folders file size)

If I understand sprite-based graphics correctly (and this may be entirely wrong!), the graphics are basically converted to bitmaps and saved as such in the VRAM, so the size the game engine/graphics engine sees is entirely dependent upon the actual size (in pixels) of the image. This means there sho...

See this thread: viewtopic.php?f=49&t=50315 (possible duplicate).

It may help if you post the same info requested there - screenshot with debug info on, and log file.

Maybe try to make a short video only showing the problem, and specify where exactly it is noticeable?

Re: Deconstruction planner white-/blacklist issue

Do you mean the left window or the right window? The preview on the deconstruction planner in your cursor looks like it is filtered for speakers and concrete, so it shouldn't remove the inserter.... Edit: I see now it is the same one, which is the one you're holding - whitelist means only deconstruc...

[UX] Blueprint book always has an empty blueprint last

Quick UI/UX suggestion which I think can improve usability. Right now, if you want to add a blueprint to a blueprint book you have to first create a new blueprint then drag it into the book. This is fine when organizing existing blueprints, but for new blueprints it makes no sense - I have to create...

Re: Please put 32 bit demo versions back up

64-bit Athlons were released 2003. 64-bit Core 2 Duos were released 2006. This means any processor from the past 11 years should support 64-bit, and frankly if you have a machine this old it probably struggles with modern websites as well, so you would benefit from getting a new one (even if it's a ...

Re: [0.15.5] Big worm almost impossible to kill

If you have Poison Capsules available - they are pretty good at dealing with big worms. Place a turret or deploy some defender capsules as decoy, run in and throw 3-4 poison capsules, then run away. Come back 15 seconds later and most of the big worms should be dead, leaving the spawners and biters ...

Re: Did they silently increase tank capacity massivly?

Fluid costs are also 10x'd as is fluid income afaik. Ah right, they adjusted the recipes accordingly. 2x plastic now cost 20 petroleum gas (up from 3; still only 1 coal though). Now it makes sense when people say that pipes may become a real bottleneck. Pipes also increased in capacity from 10 to 1...
