Re: Annoyances associated with Factory building
I lost my tank. lol I know it's somewhere, but no clue where. It's not anywhere near the rail line that I've been working on. Does the tank not leave a blip on the map like the car does? It does, but only when it's inside your view area or that of a radar. I found it though, it ended up inside one ...

Re: My First factory
Had been suffering bottlenecks with my ore storage and plate production. 1 Express belt couldn't handle the ore into the copper and iron stockpiles, and 1 express belt couldn't supply enough to the furnaces. Even packed, one express belt struggled to provide for 30 furnaces with 2 level 2 speed enha...

Re: Annoyances associated with Factory building
Kinda nitpicky since I need everything to be set up perfectly, but Building large fields of something (solar panels, accumulators, chest storage, etc) only to find it off by 1 tile. Then needing to destroy everything to move it over. Worst is with storage chests imho : with blueprints and robots, y...

Re: SOLAR or STEAM [poll]
So again, what is the benefit of separated power systems? A lot of things are just personal preference. Is there a benefit to me stockpiling hundreds of thousands of iron and copper ore? no. I could just mine the stuff as needed and let it stay backed up until used. But, I don't like seeing backed ...

Re: Challenging enemies
Could pollute the hell out of the environment (ie, steam engines instead of solar power) to get Behemoth biters, spitters, and worms to spawn *a lot* more often.

Re: SOLAR or STEAM [poll]
ok, I made the switch.
I set up a bunch of assemblers and mass produced Solar Panels and Accumulators.
My factory now has 2,880 Solar Panels for daytime power and 4,800 Accumulators for night time power.
Total capacity, 174MW from solar and 24GJ backup.

Re: Illegal copies and youtube
DMCA wont do anything to prevent piracy. If it did, then piracy wouldn't exist. lol. Even if used as a reason to get downloads removed, there are hundreds/thousands of sites and chat rooms to look through. Then you have the whole torrent network, private sites, public sites, and it's even possible t...

Re: SOLAR or STEAM [poll]
On my first fac still and using steam power. Have had it up to 80MW of usage Will I transition to solar like some people think everybody does? Have seen people say that many places and times. Maybe, maybe not. Depends on a few factors. Will I run out of space to place steam engines near water? Proba...

Re: Suggestion: Arctic biome, Changing weather
Makes no sense, that the water is then 15 degrees "warm". Maybe you can barely find water, cause all is frozen. The pumps don't get the water from the surface, they get it from deep in the lake where it is warmer. If the pumps got water from the surface, then the water flow would stop and...

I think it was GTA 4 that had your character be drunk all the time if the game was pirated.
Played a mob style game long ago that had the screen flipped upside down if it was pirated.

Re: My First factory
There is 2-4 offshore pumps per row of boilers and a row of 20+ boilers per 10 steam engines. All the boilers feed into the row of storage tanks and the storage tanks feed into the steam engines. At the ends of the rows of engines they have 3-5 water and the temps are 95+ It's only running at half c...

My first and only factory so far, with nearly 100 hours in it. Guess it could be considered a mega factory now and will probably never be complete. I'm guessing he's asking for a non-steam copy so he can try to install it on a USB drive to plug into the computer and try to play it off that, thus no need to install it on the university computer. However, the games config and save files are located in the user /appdata/roaming/factorio folder of ...

Your Logistics robot is suffering from a loose compartment door and it drops the explosives 1 at a time on the way over to you, destroying 5 power poles, 13 conveyors, and 2 assemblers.
I order my Logistics robot to bring me 50 Steel Chests

After being built, you can't rotate them by hitting R to make the gun point a particular direction.
