Re: Mod packs with steam
well if you actually used steam, you would know it installs everything for you, including any software or API needed to run the game, it can even scan your hardware and check for driver updates if you give it permission to do so, its all automatic, and so what its keeping track of Gameplay hours, i...

Re: Mod packs with steam
why not? its not like steam is a horrible game distribution site, and its pretty convenient being able to buy games with a press of a button, but as Koub said the game is aiming for other distribution platforms such as GoG, I just don't see why you're so against steam in general. No, it's not conve...

Re: Mod packs with steam
I personnally favor freedom of choice. I'd rather see the game available on Steam, the website, GoG, desura, and any other existing digital distribution platform, because it's good for the game. Compelling people to go through Steam will prevent some people from buying the game. well I didn't know ...

Re: Mod packs with steam
Mods are supposed to be available through an ingame mod management tool, using a portal so that even people who are not on steam may benefit from it. wouldn't full steam integration be much more beneficial? it will be help protect the game from piracy, because you're locking out people who didn't b...

Happened to me as well, I don't know how but I've lost about 5 tanks already.zytukin wrote:I lost my tank. lol
I know it's somewhere, but no clue where.
It's not anywhere near the rail line that I've been working on.

Re: Reducing the number of keys that are needed to play the game
I don't think its a wise idea to use a controller with a game such as Factorio at all, although it may be possible via controller button combinations, also the game already has a Production Statistic menu, can be accessed by pressing "P", the "E" key is already taken up by the In...

Re: Blueprint-Tablet
I would very much love this, carrying 10 Blue prints and a bunch of resources, circuits, and a bunch of machinery can really eat your inventory, and I find it more tedious then a fun, nobody likes to go back and forth for a blueprint, and you can't really get roboports to send you the blueprints, at...

Today I spent 5hours fixing my Rail System, they kept colliding after a certain amount of time, then they keep going on the same god damn track, even getting stuck...
I eventually fixed my spaghetti Rail System... I really need to spend some time to fix it up and make it look clean.

Re: Tracer Effects for Ammunition in Factorio
When i understand you correctly you want special tracer bullets to mark enemies for a bonus like additional damage taken by turrets and the player? Not necessarily. Tracer bullets aren't really any different than regular ammunition. They are slightly less effective at piercing armor and have a mild...

Re: Tracer Effects for Ammunition in Factorio
Yes you are right on this point. So either a different malus for the enemy or a bonus for the player / turrets are needed or maybe a guided rocket-launcher or rocket-launcher-turret which sends missiles to the next marked enemy could be implemented. yeah that could work, also I wouldn't be opposed ...

Re: Tracer Effects for Ammunition in Factorio
as far as I know all weapons besides shotguns and laser turrets already hit their target instantly, therefor not needing any tracers, and there's no point in traces anyway, its not like weapon degrades and starts performing worse, the game always gives you a 100% accuracy since it auto aims, so ther...

Re: Annoyances associated with Factory building
Does this also include player mistakes? if so one of the problems I had to deal with today was why Iron was on my Circuit Belt Bus, spent hours looking for the culprit, just to find out one of the belts from the assemblers that was creating circuits was pushing iron into the belt -_-

hmm ... at least transport belts are in the following fast_replacable_group: fast_replaceable_group = "transport-belt" I just tried replacing a regular transport belt loaded with items with a fast transport belt manually and all items stayed at the same location on this transport belt. Us...

Upgrade/Downgrade belts using blueprints
Okay I swear this isn't in the game yet, so can we make it so that we're allowed to replace upgrade/downgrade belts using blueprints? because whenever you try to deconstruct a belt with resources on it, it automatically fills your inventory, with this it would be much easier and less tedious.

Re: Targeting priority
The defense in factorio is a classical rock-scissors-paper situation. Try to combine the advantages of lasers (firepower, but "slow") an gun turrets (rapid firing, weak above small/medium biters). Just put the gun turrets some tiles in front of your lasers (watch for the range as it diffe...

Statistic/Monitor Module

Re: top rated game
Not surprised  , the developers really care about this game, I mean if people on steam started researching the beginning of the development process of this game, they'd be surprised how low the starting budget was for this game, and here it is now, still delivering, they've outdone themsel...

Did you try starting it with the launch options set to "--force-opengl" ? To do so, right click on the game in your library, then select properties , then set launch options . Daamn.... Daniel(sorry but I had too!), wow, thanks for the quick reply, so far its working perfectly now, thank ...
