Re: Friday Facts #186 - Marathon testing
I had a fun dream this night. I was at some place with other people, suddenly a video starts playing on a big tv, showing the text THE WAIT IS OVER. Then a big red button is shown and images of Factorio factories and the new features were flowing together into other images (I can't explain better bu...

Re: Factorio Roadmap for 0.15 + 0.16
If 0.15 is not released soon this community will collaps in on itself, creating a vortex sucking each and everyone in, placing them in a hostile world where they need to mine iron and copper all day long and hide from biters. Real life Factorio then, I guess the ultimate dream for many of us. As lo...

Re: Friday Facts #185 - Progress report
Some subtle hints in the FFF to a release next week. That would be nice and all, but if it isn't we are nevertheless one week closer to 0.15 compared to one week ago. I think it will be in April anyway which is soon anyway :) I love the new nightvision! First time when I tried night vision went like...

I'm still waiting for the Factorio port on Android. So looking forward to the Pay 2 Automate concept https://www.factorio.com/blog/post/fff-132steinio wrote:0.1 was a missed opportunity for the biggest April prank as release of 0.15.

Re: Friday Facts #180 - Map interaction
Since you asked if there are things we want for 0.15 so here are my suggestions (please excuse my bad english, im german) I want to be able to tell my trains to only go to a train stop, if certain conditions are fulfilled, and otherwise skip that train stop and continue with the next stop. The cond...

Re: Friday Facts #180 - Map interaction
I really like to see that the map will be getting some improvements too. I found it okay while playing but the suggested improvements that kovarex listed are big improvements. I mostly prefer interaction with the trains and stations from the map. And some specific suggestions from me: - Selecting a ...

Re: what do we do when 0.15 happens?
First thought is OMG BEST DAY OF MY LIFE, then I realize I have to wait some more weeks before all the mods in my game are updated to 0.15 Maybe that's a good point to start a new game. But first load my current game without the outdated mods and save my most ingeniously design production parts as a...

Re: Friday Facts #176 - Belts optimization for 0.15
I don't have any programming knowledge but I just love reading about how these optimizations. I like to know about the creative ways to fix a problem, and knowing how the game will be better in the future. I'm thinking about upgrading my i7 860 from 2010 somewhere in Q1 expecting to keep the UPS up ...

Re: Friday Facts #173 - Nuclear stuff is almost done
I like to see that the nuclear system is almost finished. But I feel a bit letdown because it will be simplified, like others have expressed. I understand that it shouldn't be too complex for everyone, so there would be an option to make a low efficiency reactor with low risk or high efficiency with...

Re: Friday Facts #172 - Blending and Rendering
Is there some rough estimate on how much VRAM will be required to play with high-res textures when every single texture in the game will have a high-res version? New rails and signals are really beautiful. The only thing - aren't rails themselves looking a little too thin? There're trains with wago...

Re: Friday Facts #169 - Combat revisit 2
I don't know if it is intended or not but as far as I know it is not possible to repair your armor. I have multiple MK2 power armors for different situations. Sometimes I have my construction armor with exoskeletons and personal roboports but no shields, then I decide to attack some biters and forge...

Re: Friday Facts #167 - Reactors Operational
I very like the reactor concept, but we need one thing: Better pipes building. Yes! Having an option to disable the autoconnect so you can have parallel pipes next to each other without messing around with underground pipes would be nice. But I'm really looking forward to all of this. Exploring wil...

Re: Friday Facts #166 - Combat Revisit
I think it would be good if the homing laserbeams are replaced by faste straight laser shots or instant laserbeams. I'm aware there is a mod for instant laserbeams but the current lasers don't make any sense actually so they should be fixed anyway for the 1.0 release. Same for the homing spitter pro...

Re: Friday Facts #166 - Combat Revisit
Nice FFF. In my current game I focused more and more on exploring and building remote outposts to find the precious oil. But killing all the aliens is now the least favorite part of this exploration. It isn't that difficult with a MK2 armor filled with shields and batteries, and a mix of cluster gre...

This is the Bagger 288 or the even bigger Bagger 293 in Germany (sorry I'm not an expert on German mining equipment, but I do know it is badass). It's a massive digger and includes conveyor belt to carry the coal to the powerplants. The whole thing has a Factorio feel to it https://mods.factorio.co...

Re: Friday Facts #164 - Nuclear power
Again part of the "no explosions" party here in regards to nuclear power. As for "consequences to improper setup", Having a gradually worsening penalty for bad setups would be great, as it would give players time to react. What I figure would be an interesting idea would be if t...

Re: Friday Facts #164 - Nuclear power
Great FFF! I like the idea of being able to make your own nuclear setup. Play safe and have a low efficiency power plant. And when your factory gets bigger and your energy usage increases you may want to try out riskier designs. For anyone who is afraid this will be too complex for the average playe...
