Re: Accessibility option - screen flash on warning

Hm. I also play often without sound (instead hearing music or podcasts), so I’m aware, that I could miss the alarms. But that also happens with sound. And flashing is not such a good idea, we have some suggestions about removing the current flashes, because of epilepsy inducing. https://forums.fact...

Re: Unlocking blue hardware

Looks like technology after purple and yellow science has been deleted from your save. I suspect a mod, because that's definitely not part of the standard game. A mod can delete vanilla data? Is there a way to get it back or do I have to start a new save? If a mod wants to replace all or part of th...

Re: Friday Facts #365 - Future plans

With respect to people wanting better enemies, one place where Factorio lacks is in ways to respond to anything but the sort of basic bland enemies we have right now. Other than biters and the day/night cycle and fires the player might start themselves, the environment plays no role in planning a fa...

game.player.force.current_research?
game.player.force.current_research.research_unit_energy to get the time required, I think.

Re: Game slows when selecting a large area to do a task with robots

GPU memory or CPU memory? I've got 32GB of ram. from everything I've noticed, the game never uses more than 9GB of RAM. GPU memory is about 2GB. Main memory. Regardless of how much you have, main memory is glacially slow compared to the CPU, and when you are scanning a large chunk of memory, it won...

Re: Make empty furnaces hide receipt again

+1 There are 3 distinct states of furnaces: 1) working, 2) full output, 3) empty input. With the old behavior, one could differentiate between them without opening their Gui or hovering over them: 1) fire and item display 2) no dire but item display 3) no fire and no item display Especially when de...

Memory. Especially when you have exceeded the size of the CPU cache.

Re: Poll for strategies to power your equipment grid

Not enough options. Where is the "I use solar until I can get the PFR" option? I heavily disliked the "have to wait until the sun comes up to recharge my batteries before I assault that next nest" portion of the game. Fuel or not is rather irrelevant if I can automate i...

Re: Unable to find file due to double underscores in mod paths.

Yes, it's a special convention.

Code: Select all

__alien-biomes__
means "the root of the mod named alien-biomes". It's magic that makes it work whether it is in a zip file or not, etc.

If I extend the pipe line, I find that it is pumping out the water in its internal buffer, but not "creating" more water. Are you finding that it fills the pipes up with more water than was in the buffer?

Re: Improved Task Queuing for Bots

Given that you have control over the phases, why not change things around so that the blueprints are not laid down until the materials are present? I.e. lay down whatever gets the materials where you want them (logistics chests, circuits that specify the quantities of build materials and test whethe...

What's a "bois"?
ya know, like 'me and the bois'
Try replacing bois with bios, and it should make more sense.

Hmm, do you have an example of using it to unload you can share? This is my high volume "no gaps allowed" unloader: Screen Shot 2021-01-29 at 3.17.05 AM.png But I find it doesn't work so well when you have impaired production. Do you mean that in the sense that it doesn't pack the belt wh...

has anyone considered that maybe it is fueled by air? they could just add that to the item description
Pretty much anything you'd put in a fusion reactor would be a gas... hmm... πŸ€”
