Re: Stations & other LTN based designs

I haven´t seen anyone share a trash system in this thread yet, so here is my simple solution. I use the provider station from first post in combination with the filter from second post at the depots. Filter your fuel out so you don't have a loop. Now all the stuff that gets dumped at the depot gets...

Re: Why use Beacons?

funny, the same discussion "why beacon with speed and assembler with prod if you can use efficency modules" i saw on reddit? last week. I'm building atm my first mega base (1000 science per minute) and i'm in transition to it. So i simulated the needs with beacon+prod , effi and without. W...

Re: Friday Facts #213 - The little things 2

one little thing i didn't see mentioned in the thread yet.... recipes that need a) a very short time and b) an absurd amount of material, how are they handled? For example satellite.... in the current version with 10x materials, well, the chest is not big enough. With the changes to 30sec it would s...

Re: Chunk-aligned modular railway system with LTN Stations

maybe someone can help me :) The stations all work nice in vanilla but if you use modded loco+waggon nothing happens. I read somewhere in the LTN thread that you have to send an additional signal (composition) where the modded loco is stopping.... as with everything at LTN, there is not really a doc...

How are depots/trains choosen?

I started now using LTN. Took me more time to understand how it works then i thought. Still don't know exactly how to connect stuff and calculate loco/car position, but thanks god there are blueprints :D As i play on a map with RSO/Railworld my tracks to ore fields get long, like 5-10min long for a ...

Re: Belts, how far is too far?

Not only your unloading must be way faster than your intake because of the downtime between train, but there's the logistic of train that don't always scale well (adding more train raise the odds of stopage and traffic) unless you have a dedictated rail for each of your mine. Thats why you have che...

Re: Chunk-aligned modular railway system with LTN Stations

just started using LTN and wanted to say thanks for the station designs.... couldn't figure out how LTN works exactly (i'm really not good with the circuit stuff).

Re: i find this game become boring after 100 hour.

playing "only" 100 hour for that price and be "done" with the game? Hell, even for that i would pay..... every other game costs 50+€ and lasts 60h max. Even WoW, where i have at least 700 days playtime (in 12 years) , did costs more, if i take the pets, char transfers etc in acco...

Re: FPS but not UPS problem

i think you misunderstand

the map on my PC = fine
the map on my wife's PC = fine
me hosting the map, she connecting = bad on her PC , fine on mine
she hosting the map, me connecting = fine with a bit of minus on her pc , fine on mine

so ONLY when I host the map she gets FPS drops, NO UPS drops.

Re: Performance optimization - post your saves

i got suggested to post my save here, even its not really big but it takes the client (i host , my wife connects) to 5 FPS Both PC have same specs: AMD Ryzen 7 1700X 3,4GHz , Geforce GTX 1070, 32 GB RAM, Game on SSD , played via LAN. Thread: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=52015...

Re: FPS but not UPS problem

sure, but why the client loses FPS (and only FPS not UPS) while me as server and client has normal FPS/UPS?
And when she is the server (and playing) she has normal UPS?

CPU shouldn't be a limiting factor so far on our map, neither the GPU. Both are (listed in first post) strong enough. :D

Re: Choose the production of mining drills

With the introduction of Uranium the filter inserter option gets quit harder^^ specialy if you have small patch of uranium in a huge field of something else. Then you need to bring accid all the way or the miner won't work at all.

FPS but not UPS problem

Hi, my wife and i play multiplayer via LAN. My PC is also the server. On our map she gets at some places only 5-15 FPS while her UPS are still on 60, i have at the same places 60/60 . As we both have the same PCs (AMD Ryzen 7 1700X 3,4GHz , Geforce GTX 1070, 32 GB RAM, Game on SSD) i don't think its...

Re: From Player To Player (Theocrafting, Builds, Blueprints, Tips, Workarounds)

just noticed.... the TMFW-Gen should give now 1.5 GW instead of 50 MW . Would be nice, but 524 MF is a bit alot :D

I tried to use the water in a boiler or in the production line for the fuel. But each turbine generats at the moment 600 water per second. Quit alot^^

Re: From Player To Player (Theocrafting, Builds, Blueprints, Tips, Workarounds)

ok.. i think i do something horrible wrong. Build finaly my first steam turbine and first TMFW-Gen , same setup as on the picture from Skleen75. The generator produces no energy as the turbine is way to slow with producing MF. The turbine produces 24 MF every second or so, the Gen needs 500 per seco...
