I was thinking of doing something very similar, but on an Amazon EC2 free server (if specs permit)

Would you please tell me where you found the CLI documentation?

Thankyou

Re: Is it possible to have too many trains.

I just want to know why the hell you needed that many stations in the first place!! yep good question :) I am assuming that you have heard of the "Main Bus" type of mega factory? Well I am experimenting with a design of "Modular Mega Factory" that should prove to be vastly super...

Re: Is it possible to have too many trains.

The settings of the combinators on the left top would be interesting In the circuit there are 2 detectors (mod), 4 combiners and the train actuator(mod) the 2 detectors wire directly to the input of the 2 "=" combiners and check for the absence of green and red chips (chips = 0) and out p...

Re: Is it possible to have too many trains.

To the (hidden) question: Yes, it is possible. My current map has about 300 trains, nearly always running. It takes up to 50% of the CPU, so that's nearly the limit. But the factory is able to built one rocket with satellite in about 1.3 minutes. Wow that is awesome; you have definitely raised the ...

http://i68.tinypic.com/9aqmc0.png This is my factory that produces the efficiency 1 module it is not really in a good spot as I simply shoehorned it into a space where an old copper mine once was, but as I currently only have one train supplying it and one train taking produce, so it works for now ...

Re: Is it possible to have too many trains.

Yer in the main centers of the base it is almost like standing next to a freeway, but surprisingly I virtually never get hit by any of the trains. as I find it easier to dodge the trains when there is so many as you simply walk behind the train that just passed, but standing on a track will get you ...

Re: Train stations V vs H

If the gap exists in both states of the train, I could probably live with that, however the current proposals only state that the gap will be on the vertical and not the horizontal. The gap will be for both horizontal and vertical trains, as was shown in the pictures of the friday facts I should ha...

Re: [0.12.27][Twinsen] Combinator strange behavior - 3

OT: Well' I come from a database view and there is "no value" something entirely different than "0". "0" means specifically there are none of these but the question is valid, e.g. how many red Camaros came up the street in the last half hour. "no value" is us...

Re: Train stations V vs H

it is quite clear that the majority would prefer a different approach to this solution [Citation Needed] I didn't think that a forum was formal enough to warrant citation, however even formal works never cite themselves. But is having H = V really worth the hack fix and time wasted? "is fixing...

Re: Friday Facts #133 - The train struggle

The graphical weirdness of warehouses and roboports is aesthetically unpleasant, but contrary to non-integer and non-constant train sizes it is completely trivial. Agreed. Yep, a gameplay inconsistency is far more serious than a graphical one But is introducing a graphical inconsistency worth it, e...

Re: Friday Facts #135 - Getting Organized

Have to love the idea of more turrets, the flamethrower looks awesome! I would love to see the day when setting up defenses in Factorio was more strategic/tactical and didn't simply involve creating lines and walls of turrets Speaking off flamethrower weapon could use some love too, some buff maybe....

Re: Train stations V vs H

Honestly this topic is kind've silly, There's no need for a poll, we have said which direction we're heading in But was the feed back on the posed plans to change the Circuit network also silly? as you did take the advice of your fans dislike to that idea and it is quite clear that the majority wou...

Re: Friday Facts #133 - The train struggle

I use the warehousing mod a lot, and I have no problems with it, it's always 6x6. Sure, the topmost inserters on the side look like they are above the building, but you get used to that. Most importantly, I just blueprint designs around it and plop em down. I use the warehousing mod in all my games...

Re: Friday Facts #133 - The train struggle

It's just weird that any entity would have different dimensions depending on the rotation This is something that is inherent to everything in Factorio due to an early game design choice. It isn't inherent to everything in Factorio if you focus on behaviors rather than graphical representations. To ...

Re: Train stations V vs H

1 - Leave is as it is to remain old station designs (no graphics stretch) 2 - Make equal H and V stations mostly by graphics stretching (graphics stretch) 3 - Make equal H and V station using gaps between wagons to reduce graphics stretching (graphics stretch) 4 - Simply snap wagons and engines to g...

Re: Train stations V vs H

Doesn't it feel better to state that you are bias and not be confined to the PC box. I've posted my opinion few times, maybe in main thread - don't remember exactly (I don't like to be repetative. Almost like in anecdote: "I never say twice. Try to remember it - I never. say. twice.") It i...

Re: Friday Facts #133 - The train struggle

That will still give all kind of problems when rotating blueprints... By the very nature of computers, blueprints will need to be stored in a liner fashion, even though we perceive them to be 2d, these "problems" could be easily compensated for by the l33t programmers at Wube And why is c...

Re: Friday Facts #133 - The train struggle

I'd still prefer to see the loader in game. Maybe the loader is the true solution to the train struggle. ATM the only good reason to make trains equal is the fact that a train in the vertical position can't be loaded/unloaded as quickly as the same train in the horizontal position, however the curr...
