The rapid inserter has a problem, it can wait forever for another item. I think that maybe adding a timeout is a good idea.
What the timeout will do is that the inserter will wait x time, lets say 10 seconds and if the item doesnt arrive in 10 seconds, the inserter will put everything in it's hand ...

Also, i think that maybe you can ping to mark a target for you turrets/robots.
For example you want the turrets to focus a big worm and you will destroy a biter base at the same time.
