Yeah, it's there, but I think a player would see "low power" in the assembler/miner detail first before she noticed that. The suggestion above to trigger the tip onscreen when low power gets hit for a new player was a great one and someone followed up and said it was already there. I could...

Ah, I was defending the artillery with lasers / satellite, and I needed power to be on.

Eventually I figured out to put artillery on islands and defense / switches were no longer relevant.

Sometimes when I'm editing a blueprint on screen, it'd be very useful to increase the opacity level to make it easier to see. something like /c game.ghost.opacity= would be fine.

Maybe instead, one of those little Informatron updates could appear the first time a new player has a low power condition. That way it's clear what's happening without having to show a low power icon all the time everywhere. Oh wait, but thats what already happens Hmm, I tried it and I couldn't get...

I remember bad mouthing the game a bit because of it. All those inserters moving so lethargically. I thought the coders couldn't handle all the assemblers I put out. Heh, it's all kind of funny now

Disabling the biters is very common and is the most popular way speedruns are done. Increasing the richness of all the ore patches too, though I doubt that's an issue for you just yet. That said, about the playing for hours, I think that's the beauty of the game. So much entertainment for so little ...

Yeah, that's new, didn't see it before under category extensions. Deathworld too! Nice! Unless a mod is largely used (say 50% of all installs), I'm skeptical that a mod category is a great idea. I remember when I first started playing I thought the game had performance issues and put it aside. It wasn't until I complained to my bro that I found out it was likely a lower power issue.

There is already a method in the game, but it's kind of hidden - Create a temporary blueprint instead of copy paste. This allows all attributes, including modules, to be copied to the existing building. Start a new BP Hold Shift while selecting the source building Place the ghost BP over the target...

I would say that the standard bit with Factorio is that you don't want to have any bottlenecks. Early game ore production is your main bottleneck and your hand-crafting is more than enough to handle what you can mine. Once you do have enough production to handle what you can handcraft it makes sens...
