Re: needs advice and help regarding my train setup

You're having problems because you're trying to run multiple trains on a single two-way track. Most rules and tutorials about rail building focus on dual one-way track. The methods for signalling the two systems are different: tracksig.png Example save file: so what should I do? should I create ano...

Re: needs advice and help regarding my train setup

The primary benefits of chain signals (when used correctly) are to improve throughput at junctions and avoid the risk of deadlock. I found Factorio Train Automation very useful when I first wanted to set up a "proper" railway network and highly recommend reading it. I have also read this,...

Re: needs advice and help regarding my train setup

Suggestion: place a normal signal on every entrance and exit of your loops at the stations. Remove all other signals. That should give you a working start setup so something like this? I haven't run my second train, so I'm not sure if my placement is correct/working or not rock pickup.png coal drop...

needs advice and help regarding my train setup

Hello I have decided to expand my base by getting resources from further places and already build a train setup. I have tried the in game training regarding rail signals, and even experiment in game on using rail signals, but im still confuse on what does it do and if its doable in my current setup ...

needs help to understand circuit network further and apply it to my base

I have read the wiki and even watch the 1 hour tutorial to get at least the gist of understanding of circuit network as a whole. not sure because the game is too engineering for me or because I'm just overwhelm with the fact that there are mathematical formulas needed to use this tech to its full po...

does the placing of electric mining drill matters that much in the game?

example. if i found the best spot with highest expected resources, should I put the drill there, or it doesnt matter anyway because it will drill the whole tiles of the drill? because if i place my drilling on the highest output, its going to messed up the placing of the electric pole also, since th...

Why do you have three pumps for just four boilers?
i was worried with the low pumping numbers, so i thought it doesnt pump enough water to the boiler and decided to have 3 pumps

Re: rail road placement is confusing, please help

A rail piece has a width of two tiles. You immediately see that when placing belts next to it You'll be fine with two or three rail widths between two tracks. Two is enough, but three can make junctions easier as you have more room for signals. And three allows for S-bends Rail.jpg Two rail spacing...

Re: offshore pumping speed 104/1200? what does it mean?

Pipes kill throughput, so often pumps can't go at full capacity because the pipe they are directly connected to is full, because it hasn't emptied its contents into the next pipe down the line. The best way to overcome this is to use fully-stretched out underground pipes whenever you can, and also ...

offshore pumping speed 104/1200? what does it mean?

I've notices that my offshore pumping speed is so low, which is 104/1200. I honestly dont understand what does it mean and what effect it has on my base, since my electricity is running just fine, but the water is starting to turned green and the more i look at the pumping speed, its starting to bot...

Re: rail road placement is confusing, please help

The important thing is to understand how signals work. The in-game tutorials do a good job of showing how signals and rail blocks work, so do them if you haven't already. Once you understand signals, it's all up to your creativity and personal preference to determine how you build your rails. If yo...

rail road placement is confusing, please help

I've got the gist regarding the signal thingy, but the planning or placing of rail road is confusing. im trying to create another exit from the existing rail, but it keeps on circling around and wont connect. instead of combining or in between, the rail road just getting on top of the existing rail ...
