Re: Friday Facts #140 - Soon

It is bad idea to have release at the end of the week. It may cause no weekend but fixing bugs in office :P Factorio bugs are usually very specific and multiplayer or mod related. Considering very big chunk of update work was dedicated to multiplayer - I believe MP will have much less bugs. Also co...

Re: Friday Facts #140 - Soon

I've just noticed weird thing in
flamethrower gif
In last moments 2 spiters die about 3 meters before entering the flame. That's quite odd.

Re: Friday Facts #140 - Soon

Three questions to the given picture: - why is the red wide connected from the chest to the roboport? - In the picture the green "stack filter inserter" ist set to filter the single item "wall" but not the violet filter inserter between the roboport and the box to do that? - the...

Re: Friday Facts #125 - Achievements

I've put in about 6 hours so far and from the looks of it I won't be getting one anytime soon. Indeed :D Factorio takes loads of time. My very first map was about 75 hours until goal achieved (rocket launched). I explored the game features and so on, but that's way huge chunk of time killed :) So w...

But... but.. whats wrong with a good bfg ? Nazis build BFGs... lots of them. And most of those superweapons turned out to be useless in the field Huh? BFG isn't a real weapon, is it? Prooflink? BFG is short for Big Fucking Gun and nazis build multiple Wunderwaffen, that should turn the tide in the ...

Re: Friday Facts #140 - Soon

I really liked to see filter stack inserter. However I haven't noticed it right away, 'cause it has quite similar graphics to regular smart inserter (guessing it's a placeholder) I believe the smart inserters will be replaced with these stack filter inserters, just as the smart chests will be remov...

Re: Friday Facts #137 - The release scarecrow

Thats why i mentioned about changing normal/fast inserter by one inserter that don't have feature like rapid inserter but different feature like fast direct insertion (double stack bonus). It can be used with belts like normal inserter (it don't wait for full stack). It's completely legit suggeatio...

Re: Friday Facts #137 - The release scarecrow

inserter upgrade curve looks silly. Upgrade curve? No upgrade, just different tasks. If there were few medium throughput inserter stages - would you use them? I very doubt so. - you use burner inserter where you have no power - you use regular inserters for economy in slow machines - you use long i...

Re: Friday Facts #137 - The release scarecrow

This just seems a bit strange to me: https://forums.factorio.com/download/file.php?id=11335 Fast inserters will be slower than burner inserters are now. Fast inserter will be slower than burner was before only in direct inserting . The idea of R.Inserter is it will be used in high throughput item f...

Re: Friday Facts #138 - Better Circuit Network III

First of all, congratulations for acquiring those awards. But making reference to "Major Payne", you haven't won it. You deserved it. Combinators show some information in alt mode, including input and output arrows. The only thing I want to add: this info should be turnable on/off in setti...

Re: Friday Facts #137 - The release scarecrow

If the outpost won't take a lot in stead state then you don't need the stack bonus. True, but it will take initially to fill storage. This is NOT vital, but it's good to have the feature. I hope we'll get the feature. This post gives me the hope: I wonder, if smart inserter can be replaced by combi...

Re: Friday Facts #137 - The release scarecrow

It's quite okay to loose stack size on other inserters. IF: - new inserter will have "smart" function - it won't wait for eternity to fullfil stack (to avoid many stacks of items stuck in system after, say, mining site is done) - it has to have reset timer I understand why you want the fi...

Re: Friday Facts #137 - The release scarecrow

As the rapid inserter currently waits until its hand is filled with items, it is not clearly better than fast inserter. When the bonus is 5, and it has 4 items in hand, it can wait minutes (or forever) for the last item, which might be undesirable It HAS to have "reset timer" (maybe few s...

Re: Friday Facts #137 - The release scarecrow

limit the inserter stack size bonus to the rapid inserter only we will increase the maximum rapid inserter capacity (instead of inserter stack size bonus) from 4 to 11 I don't get it - R.Inserters will have separate upgrade, or existing upgrade will be increased, but renamed and limted to R.Inserte...

Re: Friday Facts #128 - Back down to earth

If the goal here is to let belts compete with robots late game, I think the real solution is a nerf to bots. While belts take careful optimization of space and layout, bots just require you to built a bunch and then forget about any kind of base layout optimization, for one simple reason - they don...

Re: Train stations V vs H

It should be possible IMO to use one station blueprint in any of the four rotations Options #2 and #3 will allow this as well. Anyway, devs are already doing it in the way #3. The time to close the thread have passed a long time ago, so if any moderator reads this - please close it. People continue...

Re: Friday Facts #128 - Back down to earth

why not make the loader only work going in a single direction like how inserters can take items off the side of the belt the loader can only take off the front and put on at the back that would make it fairly balanced in my opinion Actually, inserters take items from any position on the belt, they ...
