Re: Trains I cant figure out signals and chai signals

First thing I would do is place a second engine on the back of the train so it can reverse. This may fix the no path problem, or possibly not. I'm not sure if the reverse engine makes the train go faster, but you still have some wiggle room there by switching them from coal to solid or rocket fuel ...

Don't feed your ore into provider or storage chests? Any chests requesting ore you can probably ignore, so long as none is coming into the logistic network.

Re: Refinery Advanced oil processing NO output

It's a bit complicated balancing your oil product ratios to match your usage.

This is my current layout, which is tuned to both research and launching rockets. If you're not launching rockets, you will need just enough rocket fuel for your trains, the rest should be cracked into gas. Heavy oil ...

Re: enemies attack me

My personal playslyle is certainly not for everyone, and once you're at the point you're at, it may be impossible to do now, but perhaps not.

I run an extremely minimal factory to start, and watch my pollution closely. If pollution reaches the nearest nest, I shut down whatever factory is polluting ...

Re: A deeper look into the fluid system and so many questions

Indeed, there are preferred flowing directions.

I suspect several people misunderstood what you said here. I'm pretty sure the OP did not mean pipes work better if the fluid is being piped west. He meant, at any pipe junction, one output will be consistently given more product. Pipes need ...

Re: High speed fluids

Huh. Well I just loaded my save and I'm again getting 413 MW, so I assume you're right. I will play around and see what reliably gives me 480.

EDIT in the screenshot above, they use a double line even though there are only 14 heat exchangers, is that for aesthetics, or does the gap between the ...

Re: High speed fluids

Well I didn't deconstruct the four reactors, but I was compelled by my OCD to rebuild the rest of the power plant :D I originally had 3 lines of heat pipe, surrounded by 6 lines of heat exchangers, and 6 lines of steam pipe running to feed the turbines on the other side of a row of steam storage ...

Re: High speed fluids

I've seen the plans which require the landfilling of a lake, but I'm afraid I can't do that. Although now that water shows pollution, I know which lake I'm choosing not to fill in, ew, that's nasty.

I tried alternating pumps and tanks, but it looks horrendous, and appears to run at 5k instead of ...

High speed fluids

Hi

In my experience, most fluids flow OK without doing anything special. Ten oil refineries running flat out don't typically back up, with only a scattering of pumps acting mostly as non-return valves. However, I'm running a modest nuclear plant, I built 4 reactors in a square, but found that I ...
