Re: Game FPS at End game
I think wee need some techs and entities that allow us reduce huge amount of belts/bots/inserters etc. Like longer underground belts, higher stack bonus for bots and inserters, loader/unloader/hopper. All thinks that allow us reduce performance impact in big factories. Rapid inserter in v0.13 is li...

Re: Defoliant for the game start?
I agree that something is needed to help clear forests. In the early game forests are a catch 22 situation, on the one hand you get better pollution absorption, on the other, chop chop chop... Clearing a forest can be very tough early on. IMO? I think this problem can be solved by simply drawing ins...

Not keen on this idea myself, Rimworld has a deterioration factor for items and colonists skills, and whereas it does add something to the game, at least for me it's a system that only adds irritation.

Here's what I did to change the labels: I navigated to my install path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Factorio\data\core\locale\en en I assume was English. There I found a file labeled core.cfg. Open it with notepad. It's full of text that made zero sense to me but do a search for t...

Re: Friday Facts #143 - Nat Punching Again
A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever. /thread Except tons of delayed game end up being total shit anyway. I thought we all learned a lesson with Duke nukem forever.. Hardly relevant here. That game had 4 different developers and took 15 years to produce across those differen...

Ewww.. should have knew they would do like every shit developer and release this at the last possible day of the month they say they will release it.. You couldn't be more wrong, It's done when it's done is a good attitude for a game developer, pushing back the release to get it as bug free as poss...

Re: Iron, Steel, Concrete Walls
I think adding options, choice, late game alternatives can never be a bad thing (from our point of view! The dev's likely see things differently knowing the complexity or time it would take to implement, "game value" as ssilk mentions from time to time ;) ). Instead of building 3 or 4 grid...

Re: More realistic Oil Production - Use of Separators
Over a few builds, a little wiki reading, it became simple (it is simple in essence!) But the lack of experience made it hard. So how might this affect players who set up oil chains for the first few times? This is my only reservation, and might be a reason for why the oil production chain is simpl...

Re: More realistic Oil Production - Use of Separators
Isnt this just a case of complication for realism's sake? Sober realism is (as everywhere in life) something to be highly appreciated and not negated But we can walk about with a tank in our back pocket. Crash landed on an alien world.. How important is it to be realistic in a fantasy setting? The ...

If you want to play that game, why not just play League of Legends or DoTA? It'S the same concept, and I dare say it's way better than any equivalent you could ever write for Factorio. BTW, the official name of the genre is Multiplayer Online Battle Arena or MOBA for short. Suggesting to go play a ...

It is now possible to click the alert icon to open the map to the location of the alert.
Can this functionality be added to issues with trains? Out of fuel etc.

Black Dahlia
"The "Black Dahlia" nickname may have been derived from a film noir murder mystery, The Blue Dahlia, released in April, 1946. Short was found mutilated, her body sliced in half at the waist, on January 15, 1947, in Leimert Park, Los Angeles, California".

A nice take on the how to get about quickly idea. I do like. .....would allow the player to have multiple player entities that they can switch between. They'd each have their own weapons, armor, and inventory and the like, as if they were individual players, but controlled by the one person. They wo...

Hi, And to make it collectable automatic. This isn't a purely automatic system though, but you can use your deconstruction planner to collect alien artifacts for you. I always take a roboport when I go biter bashing for this very reason, you end up with a ton of wood in your inventory, which I use ...

Re: Teleporting (Ringworld-Teleporters)
I think there is a need in the game to be able to move around a large map quickly, for me sitting in a train whilst it slowly meanders across the map, is just plain boring. I want to arrive at my destination as soon as possible, sort out whatever and move on. That's how I like to play Factorio. I re...

Guess this falls under the Z levels category.
They're going to add something similar, spaceports (is this the same / similar?) Though kovarex stated it wouldn't be before 1.0
