Re: Version 0.16.10
Crazy! By the way, they increased iron ore spawning in 16.0 - but I'm playing on a map right now where it still seems that there is way more copper than iron. Just random or might there be an issue? Or might setting ore frequencies to low and patch size to very big be the cause? Noticed same thing,...

Re: Belt buffer device
I am pretty sure you missed the whole point and based your text on just the word buffer. I cannot deny this, what's the sense of this device? In which situations does it help me to make my factorio more efficient what cannot already be done with stack inserters and chests in vanilla? If you have to...

Re: Belt buffer device
-1 There is no need for a separate buffer, you can build highly advanced ones with the items vanilla has by default. Examples: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6667 http://kovarex.com/wiki/index.php?title=Storage/Production_buffers https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/30207...

Re: 0.16 Map generation Feedback
The shape of the continents are more interesting in 0.16, which is really nice, but the rest comes up very short. I don't think that the devs ever during these 8 months since last patch really started a map on default to test it out because I almost always miss one or two basics ores in the start ar...

Re: Friday Facts #221 - 0.16 is out
Removal of compression really ruined some of the fun with the game, the devs should see this avalanche of comments about it as being a really important issue for the players.

Re: The mandatory 0.16 F5ing thread
1) With every FFF about 0.16, the amount of excitment doubled, so yeah I am really looking forward for 0.16 :D 2) Ability to put splitter and underground belts without deconstructing the belt Haha, I agree, the FFF feels so anticlimactic, on one hand it feels like you get the update of something aw...

The mandatory 0.16 F5ing thread
A few questions to fill the void: 1. How much are you looking forward to the (very) experimental 0.16? 2. Favourite new feature/improvement that you think will be included? 3. When did you start F5ing the forum/site/steam? 4. What's your best bet on when it will be released in weekday, hour of day ...

Re: Friday Facts #219 - Cliffs
I think aliens shouldn't be able to destroy cliffs. Because if they could why didn't they do so in the last million years before out arrival? All the rest I think is fine. If the aliens can't find a way down the cliff then they can't attack. As long as they do't start using 100% cpu trying to find ...

As I understood it, there will be special explosives to remove cliffs, which would basically mean that it is invulnerable to other attacks or those special explosives wouldn't be necessary.

Re: Friday Facts #217 - Just another Friday Facts
In the ratio statistics only the science is considered, if you consider all the infrastructure you need to build (or that people build on average) to complete the game I bet the needed iron ratio will be a lot higher, as most infrastructure are belts, ammo, rail, trains, assemblers and inserters.

I approve all changes that are an attempt to make it better, and we really need more intuitive design, and I say that with thousands of hours played. We all trust the mighty Factorio devs to try to make the right decisions.

Re: [14.22] Linux: Steam: Freeze or crash on startup
[0.15.6] Update: Changed to oibaf open source mesa drivers , and I don't have problem with overlay in factorio anymore. It doesn't explain everything but it means there is a link between GPU driver version and Factorio implementation for this. (as other opengl games doesn't have this problem). (For...
