I don't know how it is on a Switch, but on the PC there are autosaves (every 5 minutes as default) and you can load a previous autosave just as a regular save. However, they got overwritten with your tries to survive, if you don't load one in time. I usually load some previous save if I got overrun...

Just to finish this thread, I went ahead and got killed by the train and respawned and picked up my stuff. got a couple screen shots. got no achievement I don't think. fun though.

Interesting, there is so much you have to learn and manuals don't always have exact answers to my questions. thanks. I'm gonna get killed so i can try out the respawning.
