Re: Friday Facts #367 - Expansion news

Can someone revisit the Windows SteamCMD version of the dedicated server? On Linux there's an option for headless and doesn't require authentication and is supported by a 3rd party to allow incremental updates. On Windows there is not really a way to achieve the same functionality. Would it be poss...

Re: Friday Facts #333 - Terrain scrolling

You guys keep amazing me with the intricacies of game development.. I love these Friday Facts and wish EVERY developer would write them; I absolutely love them.. also, these optimizations is exactly why Factorio has been my #1 game for the last few years.. Do you have an updated unit test video? I'd...

Re: Turn wood into crude oil

Hi guys, just to let you know: my mod Wood Gasification v2.1.0 (only for 0.17.x and above, sorry) now includes a new technology called the "Advanced wood gasification process". Advanced wood gasification turns 28 wood and 50 water into 35 units heavy oil, 15 units of light oil and 20 units...

Re: Belts vs Bots - A response to FFF #224

What about longer charging times for bots, so that they're only effective when used in bursts, like when resupplying a train or a player, or helping in the production of some finite-storage product like repairpacks or complex ammo types? I really think giving bots realistics recharging times and wea...

Re: Friday Facts #286 - Pollution cleanup

I just mentioned to kovarex that I found it funny how we both worked on the same stuff on the same day.. (although I worked on Grafana that day, not in-game graphs, yet I think I had to deal with a bit more data.. about 27 data points per server, 300 servers in total, for over a million timed entrie...

Re: Giveaway a copy of factorio to Youtubers

I think the game has had more than enough promotion.. and channels that have over 100k subscribers can spend the 20 dollars.. seems like giving away money by giving keys that can be reselled (which happens more than often)

Good news.. can't wait for the new release.. wish it would come sooner.. but I'm sure that you guys are working on good stuff, so keep it up..

Did the older, faster release cycle, cause you so much overhead with community feedback that you opted completely out of it for 0.15 ?

Logistics bots optimization (researchable?)

pre-scriptum: Please note that I have NO idea how the order queue'ing is done for the logistics bots, so please forgive my ignorance, devs.. you glorious bastards and lords of the code! Logistics bots' behavior should be changed (optionally by a researched thing) to change their behaviour from this:...

Re: Version 0.14.5

I'm kinda sad that most of the features of this update have to do with handling idiots, griefers and other scum on the multiplayer servers. Getting more popular clearly means getting more dickheads too ... I'm grateful to see that they're putting more effort into the multiplayer aspect of the game....

Yeah sorry.. I forgot to upload it.. my factorio-current.log was 0 bytes, so I uploaded the previous one.. not sure if this is it though.. [0.14.3] Crash when reconnecting after max. desyncs

After receiving the maximum number of desyncs and being dropped to the main menu, I ignored the dialog and reconnected back to the server. Once connected, I pressed reconnect to get rid of the dialog, and the client crashed. Don't despair guys, I think you're doing a wonderful job.. YOU GUYS KICK AS...

[14.2] [Twinsen] MP Crash client + server on: "(386): CircuitConnector::markVisited"

Not exactly sure what went down at the moment of the crash since we had over 12 people playing online (look for tag 'gamechat').. included the save file that one of our guests saved at the time of the crash (which crashes the game client!) and also added the last WORKING save.. enjoy debugging this ...

Re: Factorio need IRL Stuff (Merchandise).

I will never wear a white shirt with that ugly orange domainname (yes, not even a URL, because there's no protocol specified) underneath the awesome factorio logo..

Make the shirt black and leave out the domainname, people know how to Google these days...

really glad this got implemented.. it now works as it should.. not instantly, not as efficient as an inserter and a chest, but at least nog RSI-inducing!
