Re: Friday Facts #402 - Lightspeed circuits
The idea of wireless data transmission has been on my mind for years. I'm even surprised that the development team didn't come up with it much earlier. There is a lot of fun in laying wires. But it is tiring, and sometimes you opt for the simple solution of not laying wires, relying on simple thing...

I like that a lot, thank you for including that. BLueprinting all large poles with wires was boring and tedious.

Re: Fluid Mechanics Still Broken, 6 Years Later?
I'd go +1 with Tertius and Koub, that while I also would enjoy more "fun" pipe mechanics, in the end it's a supply-demand problem. As long as you produce at least some amount over the required minimum, your system will balance out. In all other cases, yeah, for maintaining flow pumps are a...

Re: Expansion hype thread - Any updates on when/if there will be an expansion?
Anyone knows if early early adopters of Factorio (bought it way back in early days) will qualify for a free update? … 2.0 was a paid DLC, right? (Sorry, did forgot if it was stated, at all) I don't have any official source, but I would personally be VERY surprised : Wube's stance has always been : ...

Re: FFF Request: Please don't spoil any new enemies
I also believe that while there is obviously deliberately no reaction on the forum to the feedback, that the feedback is nevertheless accounted and acted upon.
It would be a shame, having such an important aspect of the game as enemies not receive at least some feedback.

I love it, that's just so great! All of it, every part. Thank you guys, that was a cherry missing on top the user-configurable alerts all the time.

It's not the sinister random danger then, rather another game sin, where you can not entirely purge an enemy.GregoriusT wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 6:03 pmsomehow.
You know such a thing COULD be solved by just putting Turrets at the Hole, right?
I enjoy the charme of being able to forcefully remove the biters too much

Re: Friday Facts #399 - Trash to Treasure
I feel like Factorio was always missing "internal conflict" in the sense of having something specific to protect against that usually is located INSIDE the Base, like a Hole in the ground that mobile Worms come out of every now and then, which you cant just plug to close it, or if you plu...

Man, you are the 5th poster which lacks reading comprehension or is just baiting, I don't know. And I even reply each time - cliffs are fun, trees are fun, being limited in a game is obviously fun, otherwise there is no progression. What is not fun, is that the cliffs-lavapit-oilpit are the same li...

Re: Remove conveniences in favour of circuit networks
To be honest, regarding the complexity of the circuits, when it comes to basic stuff like rs-latches, "disable when more than" etc, I must say factorio easily is the most user-friendly system. I recently played minecraft again, and automated some steam turbines, man, it was hell, especiall...

To shipping in water for oil cracking - yeah, I was totally wrong, and got quickly corrected. I just thought that editing a post will be unfair to previous replies, and decided to leave it be as it is. Solid fuel is certainly more than enough to run trains, especially seeing how abundant it is comi...

Re: Friday Facts #399 - Trash to Treasure
I politely disagree that you wait in factorio. I think that you have something to do all the time, even at megabase scale, but that is of course my personal opinion. While I do not have any reservation regarding the planets, there have been cases where different locations on a basebuilder proved les...

Re: Friday Facts #399 - Trash to Treasure
No "landfill" - you now HAVE to build spaghetti for the third time now, because that's obviously such a fun mechanic somehow, being cramped. First the cliffs, then the lava fields, now the oil fields. I don't know, maybe it's me, but the novelty of cliffs wears off 30 minutes after starti...

Re: Friday Facts #399 - Trash to Treasure
I absolutely agree with everything that you say. The problem is, that "my spagetti is this way" vs "my spagetti is that way" is not real variation. What this causes, as you say, that this is a playstyle thing, which simply makes one playstyle significantly worse than another one...
