Re: Full blueprintbook railsystem Zisteau Meiosis
also note: this i my first post ever. I just noticed the fact there are more people on this forum looking for this. I have no idea how to make a fancy forumpost or something ;) It would help immensely if you placed the blueprint string between [bp] and [/bp] tags. When you edit your post, there's a...

Re: Rails could track how often they're used
Wouldn't it be awesome if tracks tracked how many locomotives have passed? Do you really mean "how many locomotives have passed" or rather "how many times did some locomotive pass"? I always find numbers like these irritating. One example from real life: The company responsible ...

Re: Make the changelog parser more lenient, please!
As a sidenote, some of the errors have already been improved a bit. I changed the "no colon after category error" to instead say "category line does not end in colon", because that is what it is actually checking - a space after the colon will throw this error. The "duplica...

Re: Changelog tutorial
Are you sure the Date lines are exactly the same? The value is a string, and white space at the end of the line wouldn't throw an error here, but could make the strings different.Muppet9010 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2019 9:25 amHmm if date can't be duplicate does that mean somehow the "base" mod ignores the parsing?

I'm going to reserve judgment until I make the next update, but I'm leaning towards one of these possibilities:
- something doesn't work right for the very first time you upload a new mod, or
- the parser is just acting moody.

Re: Make the changelog parser more lenient, please!
I've been actively replying to your thread, I know that! I've immediately included (rather, linked to) the list of category names you provided, and I've also acknowledged your contribution in the original post of this thread. :-) I hope I'm enough to be your official guy :p I'm sorry if I made a wr...

Re: Changelog tutorial
And, thanks for the tip on the date format (including time) for same-day submissions. I will keep that in mind. There is date and time standard: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601 Following Blue Templar's suggestion , I added a note recommending the use of UTC in changelogs. Actually, it was th...

Re: Make the changelog parser more lenient, please!
Factorio doesn't do "it's close, so I'll fix it" logic - the thing is either correct or incorrect - and in the case of changlog files they're incorrect if they don't match the exact formatting required by the changlog system. Others have already taken issue with this, and rightly so. To q...

Re: Changelog tutorial
Last time I checked "date" could be any string. It is not parsed at all and displayed as-is. My guess is that by changing the date you fixed another mistake. You're right, it doesn't matter to the game what format the date is in. But the thing is, his changelog was parsed correctly by the...

Re: [0.17.28] [Linux] Control key not recognized
Found the "culprit": disabling "press Control twice to locate pointer" in Gnome Tweak Tool allows Factorio to see Control key presses again. Wow, thank you so much, that works for me, too! The funny thing is,I had left this option deliberately on so I could check whether the CTR...

Re: [0.17.28] [Linux] Control key not recognized
I began playing only at 0.16.51. CTRL was sometimes recognized when I changed the keyboard mapping -- but completely unpredictable. Restarting the computer, or even just the X session, would cause CTRL to break, even if the key mapping was still the same and the key CTRL was mapped to worked in all ...

Re: [0.17.28] [Linux] Control key not recognized
Did it actually work for you until now? I've the same issue ( reported here ). For me, CTRL stopped working with 0.17.15, so I now have installed 0.17.14 (with experimental updates disabled) for playing -- and another instance that I regularly update just to check whether CTRL works again. It really...

Re: Make the changelog parser more lenient, please!
So I moved on, and did something else, like add more features. :-) The latest versions of the mod do actually have change logs in them now, but they only go back to 0.15.0, and only 3 mods have been released since then. Power, Warfare and Logistics. Well, that's a starting point! Would be nice to h...

Re: Make the changelog parser more lenient, please!
For the longest time, I just didn't bother having a change log in the mod, because the changelog file is way too brutal, This post I've completely failed to notice before. :-) I'd assumed your mods didn't have changelogs because you have so many of them that required too much time to take care of …...

Re: Mixed ore mining or Uranium processing: Ore separation strategies
The devs gave us filtered splitters as way to separate the ores into their own belts. They work great... as long as the more frequent ore keeps being consumed, but if it stops... the less frequent (and often more needed) ore can't reach the splitter, so it can't be separated. The result is that you...

Re: Version 0.17.28
i think that if 0.17.27 wasn't released publicly […] But it was! I distinctly remember seeing the announcement on the forum, just before I went over to the super market to grab some beer for the evening. About half an hour later, I fired up my non-working version of Factorio to check out whether up...
