Re: Friday Facts #384 - Combinators 2.0

At least, the combinators of the XXI century :P Is it possible to send output signal only to specified network color? I see we can compare or send signal value from different inputs, but there seems to be no selection on which output to put a signal to. I am for example thinking about a case where ...

How did you calculate the numbers? Did you take into consideration legendary inserters AND logistic bots at the same time?

Re: Friday Facts #382 - Logistic groups

By default you will multiply the contents by -1, not -2. You sum this with the required values, this means, only the positive values are the missing values (You need more than you have). And the filter inserter, when configured to set filter based on circuit signals only works on positive values, so...

Re: Friday Facts #383 - Super force building

BTW: can we do mining "land" of space platform ? Yes, obviously. Does this FFF imply in-place upgrading of entities as well? Such as super force blueprinting red belt over over yellow belt causes it to be upgrade planned? Or does it (effectively) deconstruct and then reprint red belt? The...

Re: Friday Facts #382 - Logistic groups

What happens to blueprints and blueprint books? Do I need to request them too, to avoid them getting trashed by trash-unrequested? Normally, blueprints are supposted to be in the blueprint library. At this moment, blueprints are trashed as well, but we are planning to change it as it is quite annoy...

Re: Friday Facts #382 - Logistic groups

Great stuff, but again I'd like to ask, has your play testing included multiplayer qol checks? Everything thus far has been great changes, but feels like it will be even harder to play with your friends, see what your friends are working on and in rare cases, moderate griefers! Hello, we did severa...

Re: Friday Facts #381 - Space Platforms

How is the number of asteroids determined, is it platform size related? Its determined by the route (later game routes have more asteroids and a bigger ones). And also by speed, the faster you go, the more and faster asteroids you meet. Is it possible that the turrets run out of ammo if only platfo...

Re: Friday Facts #378 - Trains on another level

I believe that biters can attack trains on the ramp from the ground. Also, if biters destroy the critical supports, the rails wih not enough support will collapse, including the train on top of it so .... No the train is not unkillable on the elevated rails.

What happens if the player exits the train in an elevated railway over water? Instant death?
You just can't exit, simple as that :)

How can you exit when train is over water?
Could we deadlock the game by being on a train that runs out of fuel over water, or is it "just" a death sentence?
We also thought about this (remote) possibility, and there will be a way to solve it.

Re: Friday Facts #378 - Trains on another level

Can the player enter/exit the train when it's elevated or walk on the elevated tracks? And can elevated trains collide with anything? like a spidertron for example Player can exit/enter elevated trains fine. (It would be quite annoying otherwise) They only collide with few entities, as stated in th...

Re: Friday Facts #376 - Research and Technology

For the steam-power research (50 iron plates); would it show the progress then? so if you crafted 20 or so, it would be 40% filled? The top-right only shows one research technology, but now multiple can be 'researched' at once… Yes, the technology shows the progress the same way as when you normall...

I appreciate the time you took responding to comments in the previous FFF. I was worried, that the radio silence on the forum would persist. I had to do it this way, because just trying to read through the 35 pages on forums and countless posts on reddit is quite a challange on its own. (I didn't e...

These are some nice changes. I'm curious though, how much these extra calculations (Flight time, etc) are going to effect UPS. Bots are cornerstones of megabases, and I can see this potentially really effecting UPS.
With the optimisation mentioned, it is basically the same as before.

Re: Friday Facts #373 - Factorio: Space Age

This feels lazy. Hey, you had spidertron, artillery etc, now you don't. The expansion you have to buy will take those away from you and instead give them back to you as a reward for doing the expansion content. As I specified in the original post, these are not the only rewards, and you get more st...

Re: Friday Facts #373 - Factorio: Space Age

Also, for people who are afraid it is too fast. The 80 hour estimate to finish is loosely approximated by being able to finish vanilla by around 35 hours if you try.
In other words, if you don't rush and want to build neatly and enjoy the progress slowly, it will certainly be much more.

I wonder if there will be a meaningful win condition aside from just hopping to each new planet Yes, there is a win condition, and as in vanilla, you can just stay and continue playing and doing infinite research if you wish. I'm bummed the DLC is "just" a refined version of the space exp...

Re: I don't know why 'factorio' makes such a fuss about "leeching"

Being able to remove fuel from locomotives will be (is already) avilable in 1.2, it actually has a good reason, to be able to automatically upgrade fuel type in your train system (apart the obvious system where you put fuel from locomotive to locomotive)
