Re: Friday Facts #384 - Combinators 2.0

I'm really happy to hear about these changes. In particular I've been playing the SE mod so having the ability to place multiple AND/OR in a single decider would have been huge. I also make use of stack size calculations for my train setups so being able to pull that directly is great. I think in te...

Re: Friday Facts #380 - Remote view

If you place a blueprint and it doesn't change tint you know that it's not being built without having to wait for the bots to deliver everything else or interrogate the little out-of-stock blinker on the bottom of the HUD. I was expecting that answer but i still cant believe someone actualy wrote t...

Re: Friday Facts #380 - Remote view

777.png changes in the duration of day and night and the power of panels for planets That still doesn't help since I it seems unlikely the ratio of day/night would change. All you would have to pay attention to is if the day/night cycle becomes too long you will need extra accumulators to hold the ...

Re: Friday Facts #380 - Remote view

While the expansion is being prepared, is it possible to change one model in the game? Solar panel (I want the visual effect of operation and shutdown). Why would you be looking for this? Solar panels are on during the day and not on at night. And they also aren't binary on/off, there is a period o...

Re: Friday Facts #380 - Remote view

Really like this one. I can say having played Space Exploration that having more remote control totally changes the way you play the game and is a very welcome addition when playing on extra planets or even on one planet. The ghost update is also interesting. I'd say overall great improvement but I'...

Re: Friday Facts #375 - Quality

On the other hand speed runners might want to play the luck lottery (Think SMB3 hand grabs) at small scale because it might actually be worth it to invest a bit of resources to get that luck to make the speedrun faster. (But in doing so takes time and resources to set up, meaning there will be lot ...

Re: Friday Facts #375 - Quality

Overall I like it and it seems like a fun way to expand options. I have a couple concerns and suggestions: - The 25% recycle rate is extremely lossy early game and putting a cap on prod seems like a weird fix. I agree recyclers will end up being a noob trap since it is easy to imagine someone chasin...

Re: Friday Facts #359 - Crash site: The beginning

I wanted to say big thumbs up on the new drills. I never managed to get used to the latest design, it just looked so big and boxy and it was hard to tell what it was doing. I think the new one will be much nicer to play with.

Thanks and here's to a successful 1.0!

Re: Friday Facts #346 - He who does nothing, breaks nothing

I need to apologize first, because I understand what a terrible idea it is to provide suggestions when you don't have a lot of context to the heart of the problems or know what has been tried before. It seems to me you could try solving the water and pathing problems by separating the movement/pathi...

Re: Friday Facts #344 - Tile transition collisions & Team Steelaxe speedrun record.

This FFF I really enjoyed, both the new mods/pathfinding and the speedrun bits. (Also grats to Nefrums on getting under 2 hours in Any% !!)

Has anyone in the speedrunning community considered submitting to games done quick? I bet it would be a lot of fun to showcase it.

Re: Friday Facts #329 - Campaign reassessment

Apologies for the long-winded post. With the recent FFFs I've been thinking a lot about my experience first playing the campaign and my first freeplay games. I'm overall very glad about the new direction of the campaign, and in my mind the goal should be to try to be hands off (let players make mist...

Re: Friday Facts #304 - Small bugs; Big changes

I appreciate the simplicity of the oil change, but I don't think it flows well with the rest of the game (in particular you are now forced to use liquifcation if you want to have a significant amount of heavy/light oil). I'd propose a setup like this: 1. Oil Processing provides petroleum and heavy o...

Re: [0.17.3] game fails to start (macOS Sierra)

I was seeing the Termination Reason: DYLD, [0x4] Symbol missing error on my system on Sierra. And was reproducible in versions 17.0-.3.

This has been resolved for me in the 0.17.4 update.

0.17 Intro mission feedback

Wanted to provide some feedback as an experienced player. - Having biters actively drive the story is very nice. - Robo pal is great, it might be fun to give him a personality and have him get up to hijinks in addition to helping explain/drive the plot. - Not being able to hand craft wire/gears at t...

Re: Friday Facts #282 - 0.17 in sight

Just a few things: - Yay .17 - Map generation looks incredible, way better then what I was hoping for of "make sure starting maps are viable". The island looks great too, I'm guessing once you use up the resources on the island you can't progress since its literally all water out there? - ...

Re: Friday Facts #275 - 0.17 Science changes

I thought I might have caught a change to how you are handing bullet damage upgrades, but right now there is a gap in ammunition between piercing and uranium ammunition. Piercing ammunition does 8 physical which means it becomes effectively obsolete once big biters with 8 physical resistance show up...

Re: Deconstruction Book

+1

I have a book for building defensive walls and created a customized deconstruction planner to remove specific parts of it when I want to tear down old sections (while leaving parts of the infrastructure in place). I'd like to include the deconstruction plan with the overall book.
