Re: Friday Facts #289 - Character GUI

I just feel that the colours in the new GUI are too dark, and have too much contrast. The old colour combinations were cleaner.

Re: Friday Facts #268 - The modern Biter

To get the 'feel sorry' effect just replace the biters by cats. Innocent cute cats that just walk around the factory and accidentally break stuff, clawing on the assemblers, knocking thing off of belts, climbing on the inserters etc. Now THAT may make you 'feel pity' when putting them on fire.

Re: Friday Facts #265 - Nomenclature & Steam networking

... P.S ~ You missed a common use case from the form: What is the term for when an item is taken out of something? (Chest / assembler / etc.) "Remove", "De-insert", "Take", "Collect", ?? An inserter inserts inserters into an assembling machine, another insert...

How many hours did I play before realizing that there are alternatives to the "sushi belt" setup? (Back in 0.12) The first time I tried to automate science packs, I built a loop of belts and put all the ingredients and immediate products on it. Some items eventually took over the lanes le...

Re: Just another train station (2 wagons to 6 belts)

I think that's pretty much best-possible squishification there. 7 seems to be the magic number for stack size to belts, you can lose the circuitry with which gets perfect compression in my tests. Yes, 7 stack size without circuitry works nice and gives slightly higher compression, but only as long ...

Just another train station (2 wagons to 6 belts)

So here is my attempt at a unloading train station. Did not see this exact design before (correct me if I'm wrong) so I'm posting it here. Untitled.png It unloads 2 wagons onto 6 (almost) compressed belts using 4 stack inserters for each belt, or 2 per lane. Untitled2.png The two inserters that outp...

Re: 4-way intersections: Throughput and deadlocks [image heavy]

How about a 4x4 with an outer roundabout and inner cross? I use something like this. Sometimes I see train going back and forth between two roundabouts though, not sure if it has to do with design or if trains in general have trouble to get a head in navigating?
