Re: [0.16.18] Combinator breaks stack inserter
I'm more inclined to say the problem is in the circuitry itself; because the inserter reads hand contents in pulse mode, it's increasing the count as it picks up, which makes it think it should be disabled for one tick at the moment it picks up U-238 in certain edge cases. Not a bug in Factorio. I ...

[0.16.18] Combinator breaks stack inserter
I wanted to enable/disable a stack inserter based on circuit conditions and I noticed that while the enabling/disabling does work, the stack inserter is only able to pick up 1 item at a time. I think the problem is intermittent, but right now it seems to be happening pretty consistently with the att...

Re: Thesis: Its trains that replace belts
How would you rate the difficulty of building a late-game base using 1) Belts + trains, no robots 2) Robots + trains, no belts 3) Trains only, no belts or robots ? I'd say if your thesis were true, building a base with trains only should be no more difficult than building a base with belts + trains....

Re: So... Let's talk about bots, and how to fix them properly...
if something is a better fit for most situations, use it, no big deal I think your problem definition neglects an important fact: belts and trains are a lot of fun. So the problem is not that robots are boring on their own, rather that they are more efficient than other solutions that are more fun....

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)
I agree with all those suggesting limits on robots as it pertains to physical space. It seems reasonable to limit how many robots can access a chest at any one time. It seems reasonable to add a delay when a robot picks up an item from a chest. It seems reasonable to limit how many robots can be in ...

Rail block number display
I recently switched from 0.15.40 to 0.16.15. I think in 0.15.40 when I moused over a rail segment the info window that pops up along the right edge of the screen told me which block the segment belonged to. Similarly, when I moused over a rail signal the info window told me which two rail blocks it ...

Re: Escape from Escape Hell -- A Tale of Toggling Menus
Thank you so much Tym! You are right! There is a separate control called "Close window" which by default is tied to E, which is also the key for "Open character screen". I have only used E to open the inventory and did not realize it can also close the item windows. I believe if ...

Escape from Escape Hell -- A Tale of Toggling Menus
I started playing last week and I really enjoy it. My only real complaint is that the binding of the Escape key is driving me crazy. I tried to change the control bindings but I could only find one binding for Escape, called "Toggle Menu." In reality, however, the Escape key is doing two e...
