Re: Friday Facts #237 - Rich & interactive text

The icon tags are a little... verbose. Especially if we want it to be useful in chat. Maybe give it its own syntax: {iron-plate} rather than [icon=item/iron-plate] Braces aren't commonly used so I don't think you're doing any harm by stealing the extra two characters. Also, as others have said, perh...

Re: Factorio Port for Nintendo Switch?

Install Linux on your phone/console, run factorio for linux. Would be quite the hack :D Unfortunately wouldn't work. The CPU architecture is different, you can't run x86 binaries on ARM. I also don't know if there are OpenGL1.2 drivers for mobile GPUs (which I believe is the version Allegro depends...

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)

Re: Belt buffing. Multi-level belts, with a flip piece? Functions like a braided belt, except it has n times higher throughput than an express belt, where n is the number of layers, and does not require repeated undergrounds getting in the way of your layout. Flip piece is still 2 tiles long like un...

Re: 0.16 Map generation Feedback

Small update: I am 12 hours in on this map, and have not found a single iron deposit. I am running out of iron to defend my base, and can't afford military research because I need to keep the turrets running. I have radars pretty far out from my base, but still nothing. This terrain update seems to ...

Re: How to get old concrete in 0.16

Guys, I like the new concrete. What is this disease? :( The new concrete looks great, but it does not fill the place of the old concrete, which - Was visually unobtrusive and light in colour - Had a visible grid which was still part of the world (unlike debug overlay) After loading up my 0.15 save ...

Re: 0.16 Map generation Feedback

The new terrain looks gorgeous though. In particular, the biomes are great -- they feel like proper regions now, not just random speckles of brown.

Re: 0.16 Map generation Feedback

Yeah, I'm having to resort to using solid fuel for my furnaces and boilers, because I need the little coal I have for plastic

Seems a little bit back to front.

Re: 0.16 Map generation Feedback

It is somewhat broken I think. My world settings are Train World, with richness set to Very Rich for all resources. After enough scouting to burn 20 coal in my car (since radars found nothing), here is what I have found: - Copper 613k - Copper 66k - Oil combined yield 7821% - Stone 66k - Uranium 12M...
