Re: Friday Facts #404 - Frustration not found
Someone said QOLs aren't exciting. They are the most exciting thing. I really don't think factorio needed rts whatever for spidertrons, but that's where we're at. "Can you think of any other places pipette would make sense?" Pipetting assembly machines alongside their recipes, instead of b...

If I am in the minimap, and I enter the Locomotive Station list window, and I close this window (which itself shows me where I am), I return to the minimap.
Instead, I should return to the ordinary game. Please fix this as well

Re: Friday Facts #402 - Lightspeed circuits
Finally the circuit wires get copypasted. Took long enough. These quality of life changes seem very random compared to how other kinds of decisions are made. "It was affecting me rather than the entirety of the playerbase that has been using this, so I decided to finally fix it" In the end...

Many such cases.I wasn't a fan of the grassy desert so I enquired about changing it, but it seemed like this was an uncomfortable topic that no one really wanted to get into.

Re: Friday Facts #400 - Chart search and Pins
Finally. The game desperately needed arrows that pointed to tags (or tag-behaving things) years ago. But this could have been less intrusive. Engineer could, instead of HUD arrows, have gotten a radio antenna-like device, that bends towards his set direction. Taking clues from the stranding of morta...

Re: Friday Facts #397 - Factoriopedia
This is very cool. I shouldn't have to open an external resource to learn about items.
This is a good opportunity to finally stop showing the player the rotational speed of an inserter (or of anything else similar) instead of items per second like in the belt.

Re: Friday Facts #393 - Putting things on top of other things
This is cool, but someone bothered to add colors to items in belts so their movement is easier to see, but no one stopped the belts from animating for stopped belts?
One of those is harder to do than the other.

"your personal requests are disabled" I assume the body recovery process itself is unchanged. "Max range indicator" since you bothered doing this, did you also make underground pipes automatically place themselves like underground belts when you hold LMB? "Chart tags improv...

Re: Friday Facts #387 - Swimming in lava
This is very arbitrary. At least make this recipe need lava. And because we want to make specifically the rocket part production easier, the Foundry can also craft the normal recipe of Low density structures.
It's bizarre being able to craft this one normal item but nothing else.

Would be nice to finally get semi-automatic trains, and/or trains that automatically switch to manual if they have no stops.

Melting is cool but I can already tell I won't be able to cast or recycle everything I should, for no good reason. Like how I can't autoplace underground pipes like how underground belts are placed. The animation for the new drill looks a little still. It should shake when it moves like the Assembly...

I don't need to "super force" the ground into water so that I can place pipes anywhere I want.
Having to place pumps in lakes I don't control is one of the few believable things about Factorio's world.
(two different people corrected me, thankfully this is not the case!!)

Re: Friday Facts #381 - Space Platforms
Space platforms cannot have holes in tiles, and their surface must be contiguous. If a tile that bridges two sections is destroyed, the section without connection to the hub is destroyed as well. I don't understand this. Why, what's the point? And, the video shows a hole that gets warning signs on ...

These QOL changes are always my favorite. I never could say why the wires were so weird and hard to see, but it was both the sagging and the weird shadows. So nice seeing it be fixed.

Jokes aside, the rail ramp sprite looks a bit too busy. There's way too many bolts. It looks better from afar.

Great.
Now you can finally add diagonal walls. And belts.
The new rails look brighter and less rugged than the original ones (rocks, wood, the metal device thing) please fix that

Re: Friday Facts #375 - Quality
Seems cool. But I abhor the quality icons. It's overly complicated, adding to already extant visual noise. You can communicate the same thing with one single colored notch, rather than needing to have dots. Players can easily remember the color hierarchy. Whether it fits the theme and tone of the ga...

Quality of life features are my favorite, in any game.
They make the game deeper and more enjoyable, across the board.
It's the small things.
