I think a "skip stop if no path" option in the schedule would still be great to restore the old behaviour. If only for compatibility reasons with old savegames.

Factorio differentiated itself with its futuristic hard core sci motif. Sure, some things are completely unreasonable in factorio, but for the most part they tried to simulate reality. Sorry, but the only things that are close to reality in Factorio is that some sort of guns, cars and trains exist....

The obvious remaining flaw is wires and wire shadows drawing in front of structures when they logically would be behind them.

Good post, though. I hope there will be a way to place poles without automatic wire adding (maybe by holding shift or some other key during placement)

I'm guessing it has to do with perspective weirdness, but I notice it especially with the juxtapose: why do the elevated water tracks seem to have two sets of shadows but not those over land? Interesting!
One is the shadow, one is the reflection from the water surface.

I assume because the spiral returns an approximation of the closest target by default. It should also run faster because it doesn't need a queue.

What I fear most is managing multiple tiers of everything in every inventory. If different quality tiers don't stack, then inventory bloat will be crazy. Unless you press F while standing on a belt of a quality-booster factory section, I don't see how you would end up with tons of different quality...
