Re: Friday Facts #406 - Space Age Music

Gorgeous! I adore the original music, but I heard it so much, that I needed to turn it off sometimes. So, I'm very excited for the new music. I like space, vulcanus and the new planet very much. The fulgora music is a bit stressful, IMO ... Is was kinda expecting the Fulgoria track to come with a to...

Re: Using LTN Mod source?

I am aware, as I quoted in my first comment, that modifications require authorization. Which is why I was asking. Can I please use the source in a new mod with enhancements? Just a warning, I would not invest too much time with the code until you get permission. I would recommend to check, if your ...

Re: Using LTN Mod source?

I see the source for LTN is marked "No Modification - Although I can't stop you from looking at my code, you are not allowed to distribute anything altered, or derived from my code without explicit permission first." Be aware, that you are not allowed to distribute any changes to the code...

Re: Friday Facts #405 - Whole belt reader, New logistics GUI

For me personally the biggest issue with the list of items is their order and finding the particular item in them. So I would try to group and sort the items in the list similar to the crafting menu/combinator picker so the order is more consistent across the game. +1 That is also my idea, which le...

Re: Friday Facts #400 - Chart search and Pins

Since we don't expect a crazy amount of pins to exist, we added a list of all your pins right under the minimap, where it can be edited or removed. When reading this, it reminded me, that I use a mod to hide the minimap, when looking at the contents of logistic network, because it contains so many ...

I don't know either, but it's a good instance to start learning writing an own mod. ;)
It's a very easy change.
But, I get, that it might not be for everyone

Re: [MOD 1.1] Sea Block Pack 0.5.12

Is it intended that in red science, the very first one, the only way to get lead is by sorting rubyte ore to lead ore. Issue is that it gives nickel ore as well, but nickel has no uses whatsoever until in green science. Can't even process it, so all that can be done is stockpile it somewhere in a w...

Re: Friday Facts #391 - 2023 recap

Thank you very much for the continued support and further development of Factorio, which has become far more than a game to me.
I'm very exited for all the new 2.0 feature and space age extension. It will be huge, when it drops; hopefully somewhere in 2024.

Re: Friday Facts #387 - Swimming in lava

Steampower needs lots of water. Nuclear even more. I disagree ! I share your questionning though, but the steam used for nuclear being "hotter" it contain more energy per unit, thus requiring less water for the same amount of electricity so it would be the better option in case of limited...

I wonder, how power is generated on Vulcanus.
Solar will work, of course.
Steampower needs lots of water. Nuclear even more.
When you have to process sulfuric acid first, it can be a quite risky endeavour.

Re: New Gamer PC, poor factorio performance

Maybe also try the savefile on somebody else's computer. You can also try to run some factorio benchmarks from this site and check, if you get reasonable/comparable results for those other maps. https://factoriobox.1au.us If unlucky, it's just 7 UPS to 11.2 UPS, which is 60% better, but I would have...

Re: Friday Facts #379 - Abstract rewiring

A refactoring was imminent! Glad, you are just doing it! I love the changes. When the focus is also more on remote actions with the expansion, I'd really love, that the replay function records the viewing point and zoom, basically what has really been shown on the screen. Otherwise, you just see th...

I don't have tested, but this sounds like it could work: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT213658 Game Mode turns on automatically when you use these steps to view your game in full screen: Move your pointer over the green button in the upper-left corner of the game window. Choose Enter Full Screen ...

Re: Friday Facts #378 - Trains on another level

It's not just running it overnight though. Sometimes there are long stretches where I literally have nothing to do except wait. And that's true for this game AND Satisfactory. Don't get me wrong, I love the game. It's just that it needs a little something extra - like vanilla recyclers and vanilla ...

Re: Flare Stack (Vanilla)

With respect, even with that overhaul it's still possible to have too much of one resource and plenty of the others, to the point that exchanging one oil-based resource for another won't solve the problem, it'll exacerbate it instead. A flare stack is a viable solution and doesn't trivialize anythi...

Re: Friday Facts #378 - Trains on another level

Hello, I don't understand something. Is there a big use for second layer trains? I saw many maps for factorio and it seems to me that people were fine with 1 layer. City-blocks or not. It'll offer a lot more possibilities to increase train throughput, when bases get bigger. Also, it'll offer more p...

Did you ever consider removing the restriction that rails needed to be aligned to the 2x2 grid, so blueprints with rails could be moved by a single tile?
I guess, that would be hell. Imagine, you start two different independent rail networks, and then... they are off...
