Fascinating that spiders appear special to the brain.
Mammals and spiders have a LOOONG evolutionary history together. For large parts of that history, we weren't bigger than them.

New military science, "Tactical Analysis", that when researched turns that option on?

Sounds like you're wanting Storage chests and active providers? Active provider chests want to be empty and move their contents to storage chests where they can be redistributed to requester chests. Re: Can I control multiple stations with one combinator?

Right now, I have every LTN station in my factory connected to a central Constant Combinator which sets the request/provide thresholds so I can change them later from one central point when I upgrade cargo/liquid wagon capacities, and if I didn't isolate every station with a diode, it would put a w...

Re: Quick Start with robots

Console commands will let you do that.

https://wiki.factorio.com/Console

specifically this one to research all tech:
/c game.player.force.research_all_technologies()

and this one that lets you create items for free:
/c game.player.cheat_mode=true

Re: Friday Facts #305 - The Oil Changes

when I read that post the thought that came into my head was that they don't really care at all about really fixing the problem Look at the bigger picture: 2) You solely focus on oil changes, and by doing so, lose the big picture. The reason I consider the oil changes a good move even if not perfec...

Thats what we wanted
I am sure that is not what you meant to say. It appears to imply that the goal of the change was to lure players later in the game before giving up.

Re: Friday Facts #305 - The Oil Changes

Can any of us really remember what we felt about oil setup the very first time. Can we then understand how we had reacted if the new system had been the first oil setup we did? I. doubt. that. This is why I'm in the "don't care" camp. My first oil set up was 3 years and 1700 hours ago. I ...

Do beacons work with electric boilers? Can't say I've ever tried it. There's no built in module slots unfortunately.

Re: Development and Discussion

Yes, chunks - again, I wonder about the quantities... since they are often barely enough for infinite ore sulfuric acid needs ? (There's also fish breeding, but IIRC that needs a LOT of energy ?) You can make sulfur out of water using air filtration. Just takes a bit of fuel for the limestone furna...

Re: Change in chemical science pack in 17.60

I don't disagree. You'd want to set up a priority storage for purified water and waste water, with an overflow to a clarifier. 1. Make purified water and void the saline water, pump purified into a Storage tank with a limiter to keep it topped off, but enough space for the waste water treatment to f...

Re: Change in chemical science pack in 17.60

Yeah, that's net positive, but not a lot of excess, and becomes a net drain with ceramic filtering. Clean coal is usually where I get most of it: Crushed Coal + purified water = coke + sulfuric waste water Worst case you can burn the coke in electric boilers and get a bit of energy efficiency over s...

Re: Version 0.17.60

True, Looks at his 2168 hours of playtime on steam , I could do that, but I know from experience that's not very fun for me, and actually was the main reason I'd quit Factorio for long periods of time before I got good at beelining bots. Even to this day I'll still just stop playing for several day...
