Re: Lazy Bastard Achievement for 0.17*

I didn't put the question well. Unfortunately, I didn't save my game before launching the rocket, so I don't have any documentation or proof of my claim: I scored a 104 out of 111 on the LB achievement. I'm hoping to find out is this significant, or what. thanks.

Lazy Bastard Achievement for 0.17*

I've been away from the forums for a while, and some searching hasn't presented the answer I'm looking for: What's the craft number for the Lazy Bastard Achievement in 0.17*?

Re: Oil Patches Count

on your first visit, put a label on the patch with the count of the oil sources... That way, not only do you not have to count it again, but you can see it from map view without having to re-visit the site (until necessary for placing pumps).

Re: More Filters for Stack Filter Inserters

with the advent of filter-able splitters for output, it's easy enough to split out any desired element from a mixed input belt. also, splitters are cheap, and don't require power...

Re: Add a new type of blueprint

Does this need a new type of blueprint, or just a new tasking feature for construction robots? point the robots at a continuous/contiguous linear structure, such as a wall, a path, or a set of conveyor belts, and direct them to upgrade the structure. they follow the linear structure to it's terminus...

Play from USB key?

I've searched the forums a few times now, but haven't located a satisfactory answer.

Vacation time is nigh, and I can't pack my iMac without my wife noticing. Failing that, is it possible to load Factorio onto a fast USB stick, and play from it on some other system?

Re: Piles and hopper wagons

Piles and items transported via bulk cars (hoppers) are traditionally managed using bulldozers and front-end loaders, plus elevating conveyer belts and the like, if not crane-mounted clamshell scoops.

Plates and circuits would be damaged by such handling.

Re: Last Played date/time on Load Game

personally, I incorporate YMD-HM into my save file names. e.g. when I'm done playing, I save the session using a timestamp as part of the filename (other parts include base version, and game#).

Re: Can you mark resources on belts in blueprints?

I have seen persons use combinators for this purpose. This can be more useful than filter inserters because you can specify left/right loading of the belt.

If you create the combinator, and assign it's values, you can then place a ghost image, rather than costing additional combinators.

I have previously suggested this, myself. (Sorry, don't have a cite.)

Perhaps an alternative would be to allow use of the higher-end armor batteries in robots?

Re: [16.13] Very slow download of zip package

I had a similar experience re-downloading the MACOS version. I cancelled the download, wired my computer directly to my access point via ethernet cable, and the download time went from 4 hours to 8 minutes. this was last week sometime. your milage may vary.

Re: switching from Windows to Mac OSX

while I thought to save the Factorio software tree, i neglected the /appdata/ sub-tree, so i'm definitely missing files like 'blueprints.dat'. The previous HW is powered down just now, -maybe- i'll resurrect it later, in order to pull those particular files. thus far, it hasn't been too big a proble...

Re: Escape from Escape Hell -- A Tale of Toggling Menus

I believe you want to use "E" or sometimes "Q" to 'escape' item menus.

'ESCAPE' is generally used only for the overall game-control/setup/configure menus.

Re: [16.0] Sideloading works completely different now

The Factorio web site says this, explicitly, when downloading experimental releases: "This is the cutting edge "experimental" version. There might be some nasty bugs. Use on your own risk. Your computer probably won't explode though :)." me again: if you are unhappy with the as-y...

switching from Windows to Mac OSX

the wife surprised me with a new mac this christmas, so now i've got to move my factorio environment. I've tried searching the forums and the wiki, but haven't located any pertinent information. Basic questions are how to move saves and the blueprint library. Secondary question is what, if any, are ...

read contents of single train car?

perhaps i've missed this, but is there a method to retrieve the contents of a single train car? From what i've seen/read, the 'full inventory' stat is applied against the entire set of train cars. I'm envisioning a train stop that unloads -per-car-, thus enabling a train unloading station for longer...

instead of waterfall think 'artesian spring'. could easily be considered under pressure, though you'd likely have to drill for it.
