Re: Friday Facts #360 - 1.0 is here!

Congrats on finally releasing this amazing game! Factorio is the game I have put the most time into... it had me completely addicted.

Re: Friday Facts #320 - Color correction

I like most of the changes, but I think the new night is way too blue. Also, some of the brighter parts on inserters and assembling machines seem a little too bright in the new version.

Re: Make save game overwrites less dangerous

One year later, this is still a thing. And another year later, it's still flawed. Apparently now (I'm currently on 0.17.74) instead of defaulting the save name to the last saved file, it defaults to the last loaded file. However, overwriting another file than the one you loaded still doesn't give a...

Re: Friday Facts #318 - New Tooltips

The tooltips look great! I think there should definitely be a tooltip on recipes with catalysts (I think that's only Coal Liquefaction and Kovarex Enrichment Process in vanilla) saying that they have catalysts and what that means. Also it might be useful having a tooltip that shows when productivity...

Re: Friday Facts #312 - Fluid mixing saga & Landfill terrain

Unlikely to have any impact. The game basically draws entities top to bottom so entities lower on the screen appear before those further up. To cope with entities reaching down, like an inserter in north-south direction, graphics are also put in layers (or to handle trains being over rails even if ...

Re: Friday Facts #312 - Fluid mixing saga & Landfill terrain

Now that you're doing things with lanfill... how about making a way to remove ladfill? I hate having to be scared of placing one bit of landfill wrong when I build my nuclear reactors, having to load a save if I mess up and then having to place all of it again. What about having some sort of miner s...

Re: Friday Facts #311 - New remnants 3

I like how the new remnants look, though I think the pipes still look a tiny bit repetitive in the picture. Because the window part of the pipes is so dark, it looks a little bit like they contain Crude Oil. Those are just tiny issues though. Also, I think the underground belts look a bit weird. Why...

Re: Friday Facts #309 - Controversial opinions

I have another "controversial opinion": Belt balancing is too hard and should somehow be made simpler. I think the main reason why I don't enjoy building large belt-based factories is that belt balancing is so hard. balancers for 2^x belts aren't too hard, though making them compact can be...

You need to retire the we can not change it now, people are already used to it argument, if you genuinely believe a change makes the game better, not changing it is wrong.
I totally agree.

Re: Friday Facts #307 - 0.17 stable candidate

You're saying that there's not much major stuff left to do before calling factorio finished, but what about the "Possible future content" section on your "Content" page ? There's a lot of stuff there that I think could be awesome additions, especially the space platforms. I think...

Re: Friday Facts #306 - Experimental Demo

I tried out the new Indtroduction scenario right after I had updated to 0.17 and I got completely destroyed by all of the biters. I couldn't even make it by loading autosaves to better prepare for the waves. After I read the spoiler warning in this Friday Facts, I decided to try out the Introduction...

Re: Friday Facts #305 - The Oil Changes

There have always been a lot of green science technologies that felt like "fake green technologies" to me because they required oil processing, so I really like the planned technology changes.

Reminds me of the huge worms from Osiris: New Dawn (I think that's what the game is called). These could be a bit creepy but interesting. good work!

Re: Fish: what's useful with that ?

Fish are a great way to heal while in combat. You don't start naturally regenerating health until a few seconds after you stopped taking damage, but you can eat fish to instantly get back a big amount of health. To eat fish, you need to have it on your cursor (left click the item in your inventory o...

Re: Friday Facts #304 - Small bugs; Big changes

I will be honest I do not like the change for the basic oil recipe. My biggest gripe is it teaching a bad lesson about how you make solid fuel efficiently. The new oil recipe forces you to make solid fuel from Petroleum until you have researched Advanced Oil Processing. As it already is a lot of pe...

Re: Friday Facts #304 - Small bugs; Big changes

just logged in to say that I hated the oil recipe change. there is no challenge left in oil processing. Since the changes are just on basic oil processing, I don't think it's too simple. You need Advanced Oil processing for heavy Oil to be able to keep progressing in the game, meaning the challenge...

Re: Friday Facts #304 - Small bugs; Big changes

On the oil change: The refinery now looks weird with new basic processing, it looks impractically big. It would be better to have 2 refineries: a basic one and advanced one. The former should be small and it should have a flare stack, while an advanced one shouldn't have a flare stack, but otherwis...

I had a similar situation but could still place a signal there, despite the green square not being displayed.
Image The chain signal is placeable although the tile is not marked with a green square.

Evolution Diagram

TL;DR I would like there being a graph for evolution. What ? I would like to be able to open a graph for evolution. This should not only show the evolution factor over time but also the percentage of time, spawner kills and pollution that contributed to the evolution. https://i.imgur.com/4eql7A9.pn...
