Re: Friday Facts #375 - Quality

This is awesome. Will add great tool for my futur mega factory, great new challenge to mass produce quality. Those who don't like it, can just ignore it ... Will ores have quality ? Will plate be recyclable ? (I suppose if they have quality) The reclycler seems to gain from quality of the item you p...

Re: Nuclear reactor over 1000°C - ideas?

Heat over 1000°C should damage the reactor. Not much, about 10-15% for a full cell but the reactor can only be repaired when not working.
Under 50% it has a small chance to explode, increasing while damaged.

Will spice a little bit the game :D

Re: Friday Facts #303 - Under 100 bugs (but still not stable)

Are you waiting for stable to play a new playthrough?
Well ... Yes
I spend 1000 hours on my last game don't want to start a new one with some major rules changes while I play it.

And I bought my 2 copies on your shop, this is pretty unusual for me ... want to support your team :)

My smart smelter serviced by train

Hi, Just to show my last creation. :) Goals : - Don't use robot (my religion) - Smelt copper, iron, steel and brick when needed. - Cut power when a line is not used I use 2-6 trains for copper and iron ore, 1-3 trains for stone and plate, 1-1-1 train for the rest. The ore stations : https://i.imgur....

A way to know logistic needs

TL;DR You see the notification on the map that are saying that logistic bot need some stuff to complete the build. Make them readable and usable by circuit network. What ? Factorio is a game of automation. Dev think some information are important enough to give them to the player on his screen but ...

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)

Remove beacons... In an earlier post, someone remarked that bots allow more beacons than you can fit with belts. Simple solution: remove beacons. But let’s say you want to keep beacons for some reason. What solution would allow maximum beacons if you chose to use belts instead of bots? I like the s...

Re: Friday Facts #224 - Bots versus belts

Instead of thinking "How do we nerf bots to make belts better" you need to think "What could we do to make belts better than bots" You can increase the speed of robots. But what if there was a space science research that allowed you to increase the capacity of belts to hold more...

Re: Friday Facts #224 - Bots versus belts

Bye bots ! Bots ruin the end-game gameplay. They ruin it because there is no limitation (or so little with the charging process) and you can just get out of belt. Can I suggest you to just put some limitation ? - Bot carry only one item. - Only one Bot at a time moving good to a requester chest (ca...

Re: Acceleration bonus power creep

Who cares about train fuel efficiency ? For train it is all about how many train you can put on a line and what is the output of a station. Acceleration is the only way to go. If a train arrive full speed on a shared line it will slow down less the train already on the line. With acceleration train ...

I agree, we should get some sort of end-game radar that match arty range. Of course more mat to build more energy to maintain.

Re: Version 0.16.8

How does that make sense? Barrels are more complicated to set up than a fluid wagon and pipes and take more to keep running due to the constant need for empty barrels and such. It is clearly more complicated, which is fine. But should't the player be rewarded for choosing the more complex alternati...

Re: Version 0.16.8

Right, but it also nerfed belt transport of fluid almost equally. By reducing the capacity of the barrel, if you want to transport say, 1,000 liquid in barrels, you now need 20 barrels instead of 5, which means more belt space and more belts needed. As far as fluid throughput on belts it is still t...

Re: Version 0.16.8

This make barrel pointless. Tanker are better than barrel and wagon. Pipe move more liquid with less design than barrel and belt. Ho yes barrel is still more storage than tank but what is the point of storage in a game of flux ? And what is the point of using barrel for storage when you can just bui...

Re: Version 0.16.7

... Overall these numbers make barrels still useful for long term storage and transport via bots, though fluid wagons really should be brought down to 20 or 25kL. What is the point of long term storage ? If you need long terme storage your design is not good enough. Exept for energy ? Overall these...

Re: Version 0.16.7

This is my major concern. But this is only divised by 2 right ? I'm afraid not, it's currently a whopping 250. Then i am really desapointed :( This is a divide by 5. This negate all interest in barreling. Now a blue belt of barrels have a 10k output but you need 2 blue belt, one for the barrel full...

Re: Fluid wagon and barrels balancing

50 and 25k (for the tanker) seems balanced. Yes this is not bad. I hope that belt with barrel will still compete vs pipe for the effort to put a liquid in barrel. And we need two belt one to move the barrel full and an other one to bring back the empty barrel) I will still use tanker for mining U o...

Re: Performance optimization - post your saves

Hi, I really like my game but this is now significantly dropping on FSP. Do you know what I can do to keep going with this save ? Thanks a lot. You simply have a ton of belts. There's nothing new in that to optimize - if you want it to run faster you just can't build that much. Thanks for looking a...
