Re: Friday Facts #360 - 1.0 is here!

Could we have items auto sorted inside vehicles like it happens in character inventory? Also in chests if possible. Having the same order of arrangement as in the character inventory would be a nice quality of life. Don't know if there's already a mod for that, if there is send link thanks :D

Re: Friday Facts #267 - Experiments, Explosives & Extended tags

Not to brag about, but almost one year ago I suggested the feature "information at cursor" https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=54931 Maybe Koub at that time only thought about the feature problems for himself, but as Kovarax said - "I started to realize that different ...

Re: Belt input balancing.

Your solution is not in the balancer that balances input but rather in coordinate better what goes into your chests of the unloading train. Keep them balanced and when thee chests unloads to a regular 8x8 balancer and all the output is used, your input should also been balanced.

Re: Friday Facts #224 - Bots versus belts

I think logistic bots shouldn't carry heavy things like iron ore, iron plates, steel plates, tanks, locomotives... but they could carry light things, like green/red/blue chips, copper cables... This way we would need belts to carry heavy things and have logistic bots carry lighter items, because the...

You can edit a scenario like that, then play on it. :)

I'm also interested in a random seed that can generate something crazy like that ^^

[0.16.6] Pump and boiler squeezing

I am aware we can squeeze between boilers placed together and other pumps which is fine. The problem is why only one way? Situation: move the player north passing through the pump and the boiler, then try to pass back from north to south. Expected: the player should squeeze and pass between pu...

Re: [16.3] low fps when near dense forest

I restarted factorio, this time I went to load the dense forest map I shared before. Settings are just like the first one, and it has 16fps. - Decoratives ON - Tree sprites ON - Video memory usage ALL - Atlas texture size LargestPossible 16fps on dense forest map.jpg There's some instability here! I...

Re: [16.3] low fps when near dense forest

Got it again! I mean, the fps problem, which is totally undesirable but it proves I'm not lying or going mad. this time I started factorio and went straight to new game, set Trees to high frequency and very big size, so I could get a fancy big forest near me. It is at 30fps. It's not as bad as only ...

Re: [16.3] low fps when near dense forest

Just to make things more complicated: I was on factorio forums for some 15 min reading stuff, with factorio game closed. Decided to run factorio on that dense forest map, my settings were left at max, - Decoratives ON - Tree sprites ON - Video memory usage ALL - Atlas texture size LargestPossible .....

Re: [posila][16.1] Decoratives FPS drop

Hey checksumfail, try to restart your linux and then run only factorio with decoratives on, video memory on all, atlas texture size at largest. Does it help? When I restart my windows and then go play factorio with the settings on max, the fps are stable at 60. Problem starts when I open a few chrom...

Information about what we hover be near the mouse

How it is right now: mouse hover the rock and we need to read the resources we get in the screen on the right right now.jpg The idea would be to put that information easy to read right near the mouse cursor, as we can see in this example by pressing F3 and pass mouse over sprites, information about ...

Re: [posila][16.1] Decoratives FPS drop

Looks like version 16.3 fixed a "bit" this problem, - Fixed very low performance of drawing decoratives on medium or lower video memory usage setting. (https://forums.factorio.com/54681) Although it wasn't a problem of medium or lower video memory (on my part), it fixed "sometimes&quo...

I fixed it by turning down a bit Atlas texture size, so I could keep the decoratives on

Re: [16.1] Decoratives FPS drop

Managed to solve the problem by changing Atlas texture size largest to 8192 in fact there are 3 alternatives solutions, lowering atlas texture size, or lowering video memory usage, or turning off decoratives. while keeping the rest at maximum values. So right now I'm playing fine with 60 fps, decora...
