I think crashes might be related to biters and cliffs. My new game is running fine. Occasional biters attacks (desert world). No problems at all. Until I wander out near a biter nest. The biters get agro and start toward me... I get ready to defend myself, a biter finds a cliff.... FREEZE... CRASH. ...

Ubuntu 17.10 fully patched.

similar failure to load window icon.

I compared the 0.16.16 file to 0.16.17 and the PNG hasn't changed. so, it's not just a corrupted PNG file.

I don't care what size a tiny island might be, as long as I have resources to be able to build enough to get off the island. So perhaps a flood fill to find land and resources to verify you can at least get to landfill researched. If not, then either re-seed or add the bridges.

I can't seem to get it to work. When I launch factorio with this plugin I get an error:

"Path _JunkTrain_/graphics/cargo-wagon.png does not match any enabled mod."

The old junk train has worked in the past.

I would recommend the process be: if --map-gen-seed is provided, use that then use map-gen-settings.json seed if given then fall to random if none given anywhere perhaps check for "--map-gen-seed random" on the command line to enable forcing random to over ride .json. This would allow the ...

Now it seems like "null" in the map-gen-setting.json file isn't random... always the same map.

I may have found a bug. Linux headless server with seed set to null, always generates the same map.

Goodbits server in public list has it.

+1 But with levels of achievements. First, automate smelting... then higher level items.... But instead of everything available, still work through research... And each "reset" clears items, but research levels stay... You would have to run several passes to work through the research neede...

This is probably a bytes versus bits issue. 1 mega byte per second (MBps) is about 10 mega bits per second (mbps) So, with latency and overhead, I would say getting what Factorio reports as 1MBps is not too bad for a 15mbps Internet service. I like the idea of the artifacts giving a boost, but maybe not just research. Make them like consumable modules. Anything you feed them into operate 10% better for a time.

Tested on Ubuntu 16.04.1- All appears good. Server finds it's IP, and can be found and joined via the public browser.

Also on Ubuntu 16.04.1 and cannot get 0.14.15 to work headless. I tried through browser and direct to known IP address and port. It is NOT a firewall/DMZ issue. Excellent.... these updates should really help Arumba's game.

I am building a BIG server to have on standby right now. Really love the dynamic player count / password controls.

FYI: The password / max player counts are reset if the server is restarted. They are not saved in server-settings.json.

I can confirm, I get the same crash as soon as I try to craft a pick-axe. I also noted the server is running 100% utilization on 1 of the cores in this quad-core server.

EDIT: Server crashes when using Steam or .zip clients.
