All I can say is Thank you for an amazing experience. This game is pure diamond, polished into perfection. I am a gamer for 30 years now, but I have never played a game that is so well... everything (lost for words).

Thank you!

Re: Friday Facts #359 - Crash site: The beginning

Making sure the starting area is not covered by trees. I've said it before and I'll say it again: If a scenario included crash landing and a debris field, the explosions and resulting fires would make a nice clear area in which to start building, while adding some initial excitement. ;-) Hmm, let m...

Re: Version 0.18.18

I sort of wonder what a really powerful continuous laser sounds like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRaShgVyz5U This is one of the coolest laser weapon sounds I have seen in games. The opposite of the cliche "pewpewpew". This Wolfenstein laser weapon sounds like a goddamn death machine!...

Re: Friday Facts #333 - Terrain scrolling

People see a 2D game and expect to be able to play it on essentially anything. I wish this was the case. I saw my fair share of 2D games that don't even justify being on a game engine and yet the computer fans go loud when I start them. Rise to Ruins. You can hardly call it even a pixel art, and ye...

Re: Friday Facts #327 - 2020 Vision

I really liked the Rimworld tutorial. Game starts as normal, lets you do your thing and watches your actions. after a while, it prompts you about things you haven't done yet, but should have, if played well. "did you know you have priority manager for jobs?" "Here is a short list of s...

Re: Friday Facts #327 - 2020 Vision

I bought Factorio through steam and haven't played a single minute through steam after finding out you can get the game as stand alone version directly from the website. Steam is nice and all, but I really prefer to have games just working without forcing me to be online. You can still do that?? I ...

Re: Friday Facts #327 - 2020 Vision

I have a potentially simple solution for including the *bit* of a nudge for adjusting the tutorials (the whole game, really) towards automation over manual crafting: Remove the handcraft recipes for science packs......snip I very much agree with this post. I personally think that the burner stage i...

Hmmm...... Imagines reservoirs of Oil that have leaked up to the surface, rivers of Lava winding through the terrain, and churning pools of Acid nearby. Awesome!!. Re: Friday Facts #320 - Color correction

Hmm people have mentioned this, but would the LUTs be moddable? I'm thinking of a mod like Visual Smog, so although things may be "bright and shiny", everything quickly can become grimy and dirty with pollution. A little bit of "if you want it clean, keep it clean". If it's all ...

Re: Friday Facts #320 - Color correction

I really don't like it. It seems happy and colourful and rainbows and saturated green. Factorio is a dark game. Sut everywhere, pollution spewing on the fields. I prefer the right hand side of the pictures. I guess I can always desaturate the monitor. :( Edit: Is there a poll we can vote in? Just to...

Why are you trying to idiotproof Factorio? The game itself needs a certain level of mental dexterity, I do not think you need to go to such extreme level to prevent mixups.

Thank you for not making the tool tip jump into the middle of the screen. That would annoy the hell out of me. I very much dislike any UI near the center of the screen.

Oh that was just a wishful thinking on my part. I liked doing the challenges for Factorio, currently I am only missing "there is no spoon". I would welcome an option to reset achievements, so that I could do them again ;) Options -> Other -> Delete achievements. *Mind = blown*

Re: Friday Facts #266 - Cleanup of mechanics

Yet more quality of life. The game is going to be polished so much, its gonna have a hole in it :D Lazy bastard is going to be a breeze now. I would consider lowering the craft count to reflect these changes. Have you considered wiping the achievement stats on 1.0 launch? Why should they? Don't be ...
